Going MR2

Post by MR8 »

Hi all,

Very interested in owning an MR2. It would be my first MR car after having 3 yrs experience with old skool RWD action :)

Focusing on the UK NA T-BAR Rev3 onward models for insurance and refinement purposes though as many would agree, I wouldn't say no to a Turbo

Based in Herts and I'm 22

Glad to be here

welcome to the forum :) MR2 is an awesome car to have. The response it generally seems to get is that people dont know how i afforded it etc, and they always think it is such a good car for the money (as we do too i'm sure) awesome motors :)

Got a UK Rev3 T-Bar for sale atm :D </cheap plug>

Welcome along :thumleft:

Get some insurance quotes to see if you can afford a turbo, us young 'uns have pretty hefty premiums.
You will get more for your money with an N/A anyway, worth starting there and you can always upgrade when the dark side beckons

Or....you could just buy mine

Cant go wrong with an MR2 mate I`m on my second. I started off with a N/A. Just make sure it isnt the weaker 3sfe engined uk model you get (it will have no fogs or spoiler and has a sunroof). Sign up to the owners club or IMOC get some advice of the guys off there loads of info on them.

Hey Dave is that you?

If you want...I can take u out in my turbo next weekend if you wish. :) Can have a chat with u about the NA and turbo as well...do recommend u having a spin in the turbo before deciding tbh.

Actually that depends on what area ur in. Ive seen some tubby owners paying peanuts compared to me and some paying more than me.

Look Here

http://www.geocities.com/mpgcalc/postcodeRISK.html

Dave if ur in SG4 I assume thats a C risk area which should put ur insurance lower than me as im in a D* area and Im paying around 900 region fully comp with 4yrs ncb on my tubby with declared mods to 300bhp.

Your one should imo be quite a bit lower maybe 200 less unless u have less NCBs.
