I would probably say the REV3 head would be better for flow plus response!!!!
But the REv1/2 exactly the same have bigger ports but less flow rate Rev 3 + smaller ports but more flow rate!!!! :)

Yep Jap Boy is right - small port rev 3 head all the way.

another thing i have thought about, what if i get the rev 2 head ported and polisehed then is it as good or is it still worth buying a rev 3 head?

Well, its swings and round abouts. What are your power aims?

The rev 3 head is a better design, period. The yanks claim the earlier head flows better then the later - well maybe so but you will get better performance from a later head due to port design, size and inlet / outlet balance.

:-k HMMMMMM i've got a rev1 and always remebered that the Rev3 was better all round!!!!
Obiviously phil-p porting and polish might get you flowing more but i'm not sure how a REv1/2 head fully ported+polished would stack up to a Rev3 in the same state of porting + Polishing!!!! Maybe nathan might know alot more at this stage!!!!

Nathan i'm shocked that the yanks reckon the ealier head flows better!!

Didnt Dino (forgot his username) do testing on rev1/2/3 heads and came up with results that showed the rev1 head was actually the best base to start from?

I may be wrong as was a few years ago.

am sure they dont "recon", those yanks have tons of info and proof of all these claims....

including that the rev1/2 inlet manifold is actually better to, lol.....i read the other day.

am not sure in what respects, but they generally back up all these claims.
