is it me or does it actually looklike kit fits rather well compared to some horror stories ?

time to look stupid, do u fit wings over metal or instead off metal front wings ? if instead wont that weaken incase of a crunch ? :-k

dont think TRD worried when they fitted the original kits as i am sure they were all fibreglass materials... anyhow i though the strengh was in the subframe and chassis. dont quote me on that though.

looking well :thumleft:

the original arches made by TRD are direct replacements for the front wings, i.e. no original wing underneath

Cheers

not a problem :) Its been on stands for 5 weeks now whilst the wheels are being sorted from america! know exactly what you mean about finding the right offsets! will hopefully get around to some shows this summer after missing most last year :(

Can't quite tell form your photos, but Have you moulded the front wings together and then added another straight break line in?

Has neil still got the other TRD then?

Best of luck with the car, Carlo. I hope young Will does a good job. Dave will of course make a perfect spray of it. Looking forward to seeing the finished results!

I'd guess it was :) and presumably done because the original fit wasnt up to scratch?

should all be finished in a few weeks time........the fitter has had to take a about half inch off either side of the rear bumper for a performance ..exhaust....which i still aint got as yet as both gt chris aint got any in stock of the berk and jamie a jap spec aint got no janspeed in either......cant think of a better full stainless system for the money.....the hadest part has been having the oringinal car side strips put back in place...and not having it grooved cut....also all panels have been modifed to bolt on as seperate panels........put the rear wheel on today and i was so excited that it was a nice flush fit........cant show these pics as yet as it will look better when car is sprayed.......
few more pictures........

i think the wide body fit must be one of the most painstaking and time consuming fits ever.....im sure some have been done quicker but the results will always show......so fingers crossed that this car will be a good example..more pics to follow soon...............

oh this is the colour.........it will be done in.........

has you can see from some of the pics,.........even had topgun down on a spying mission......... \:D/ sure he feels like a one of the old wise men ...giving me tips on the build........luckily....well heel advice on the exhaust fiitment........as with the rear bumper measuring only 118m from end to end .the exhausts would be 120m...so going to have to do some shaving..........and who said they had the perfect fitting kit :-k ..........i aint seen it yet..........thanks for comments neil........looks like mine could be as close as it gets to yours being a rev4 turbo tbar......shame trd discontinue the trd body kit.....but at 5k a pop sure would of made the car expensive to build...

Hi guys....... a few more pics of the car...........
been an eventful few weeks what with a genuine trd up for sale.......
and with jimbob.....getting upset that reps can be just has good a fitting kit as a genuine kit.......he is right though about the man hours you need to put in to get the lines and results you need with a trd fit.......got to be one of the most time consuming labour intensive job ever.
my question is does anyone really know how techocraft really put the genuine kits on the cars that were fitted at the factory........also remember trd usa acquired quite a few kits for their market......so would these be classed as almost authentic cars ......
anyhow....knowing that the usa only had mr2 till year 95.........rev3 only...
that puts hopefully all the usa trd cars out of the running (i hope)
and the only rev4/5 trd that i have seen are the genuine ones..both tin top.......
that makes mines as it stands right now unless proven otherwise...
the only rev4 tbar turbo with genuine factory trim...not even the genuine trd had this all round the panels.....
so like many other trd rep owners we all have some kind of exclusivity.
cheers carl.......
just a suggestion........but it would be great to put a few reps along side some genuine trd's......like what i have seen with the ferrari reps......and do a spot the diffence.......or just for a photos shoot.....

With your choice of colour it definately will stand out!(in a good way!)

I think my comment got mis-interpereted/didnt read how i meant it/badly typed etc, really didnt mean to cause offence!

Sounds a good idea on the TRD meet, defo up for it! see if we can get the new owner who ever that turns out to be along as well!

In addition, TRD kits put together in a similar way to yours!

riveted on at the rear (boot lid and rear quarters) the rest are bolt on replacement panels.

:thumleft:

In addition, rear quarter follows the same line, and i notice yours has the same mouldings inside the filler cap!

Hi Neil........you have not offended me in any way shape or form.......
just refering to what Jimbob had said on the other neils posts who was selling his genuine trd....
so dont really know what you meant.........all your comments have been helpful....and genuine.......being that you own a genuine trd.....if anything you should been looking down on us poor souls who aspire to have one ourselfs.......but even when the genuine one came up for sale.......it didnt make me want to buy it now....even though i made neil an offer to buy last year some time.....i think i got over it now......just happy now to be part of the trd....stroke mr2 fraternity.
cheers carl..........

That's a great colour you've chosen, I think a member called Louise has a similar colour, and with those wheels it's going to look sweet............ :D Looking forward to seeing the finished article pics. :thumleft: :thumleft:
