I hate early mornings. I was up at 5am yesterday to go to London, so am looking forward to a slight lie in before the trackday (esp as we are staying close)

See you at sign-on :thumleft:

Good to meet you crazybrightman only sorry it was at the end of the day.

Hats off to both of you for getting the car ready for the day 8)
It looked like all the hard work paid off. The car was one of the quickest MK1's around the circuit and looked pretty good - well planted.

We had a top day too. Got back last night totally cream crackered. Bolly the new trackhack seemed to cope quite well considering. After sorting the brake wobble the car wasn't far off Betty handling wise. Just a fueling issue we need to overcome now... Least it's not spraying the engine bay with petrol anymore

Good weekend again - thanks to all involved :thumleft:

Well, I had an ace time in the super nail. It was really good to be able to WOT and really drive it - for the first time ever!

Unfortunately we had a coolant burp and steam at Cov on the way home this morning (after 100+ trouble free miles, we hit a traffic jam at tollbar island, and turned the car straight off, and pushed it to the garage round the corner.
I don't think the head gasket has gone, but we get recovered the short distance home just in case (it's a pita to bleed up mr2's on the roadside), so the RAC membership came in handy. Will have a look later when i get home from work :)

Good to meet everyone, and a fun weekend despite the burps! :thumleft:

LOL!

TAAN.

Had a great weekend, thanx Anna for organising the accomodation and to Kirsty for her culinary skills. :+:

Was a great social in the cabins as usual.

What a fab day on track. Weather was just stunning, was on the pitlane in short sleeves at mid-day, in February.

The integranail was :lover: even more so than angers. It loved Cadwell long time. Got in a decent amount of tracktime too sharing with Tom. Couldn't believe how many spinners there were at hall bends, i think its become something of a magnet since I went off in Ben's car there last year.

Highlight for me was when Toni passengered and I was chasing the sailor. Oh what fun that was. I heard Toni saying 'he's trying'.. and i was like 'so am i'.. fortunately normal service was resumed after a while but it was interesting to see that the supernail and teg were pretty evenly matched pacewise.

Excellent photos there both John & Alex :thumleft:

Our BaTpics are up and am just waiting to get them unlocked before we can post up Jo's Hall Bend moment. I can't believe how close she came to emulating Lauren in Ben's car last year

Brilliant weekend all round. Bolly did us proud even though there were a few teathing issues with initial brake wobble (easily sorted), possible fuel pump/injectors/timing (will look into it further) and ball joints/top mounts...

Now included as one of my favourite circuits :thumleft:
Although I had difficulty getting to grips (literally) with Gooseneck - probably taking too much speed in and bottling it
And Hall Bends just scared the crap out of me and because of the fueling flatspots, just couldn't take it in 3rd :(
Still good fun 8)

The accommodation & company (fellow members) was spot on again - just gutted we couldn't stop for the Sunday night as well. We stopped at a Chinese buffet along the A158 which turned out to pretty good despite being in the middle of knowhere.

Bring on the next one :thumleft:

Yes I had a little incident in Hall...lost a passenger wing mirror.
I really don't know how they raced the challenge on those Falkens last year, I felt the grip terrible! Plus they melted pretty quick...

was a great day everything went well for once although i was some what knackered by the time i got there after less than 2 hours sleep lol. theres some pics of the car car too thanks to vashy, managed to forget the camera in all the rush. suprisingly i didnt really have any problems other than brake judder due to the unknow discs that obviously can be sorted although looking at prices of discs isnt going to be cheap  . the ferodo fcp308a pads up front and mintex extreme rears held up suprisingly well, although ive not had the rear pads out yet to check if they have melted lol. the stainless brake lines and millers racing brake fluid did a fantastic job the brakes never went soft or faded i was very impressed.
the silencer is another matter i knew it was a tad noisy but 103db at the start of the day was suprising :D only problem being the nice flames it was aparantly spitting out seem to have burnt the exhaust wadding away as i got black flagged but luckily tested at 104.7db 8) that exhaust luckily will be going as the turbo exhaust will be a larger bore.
next time when everything is planned ahead a bit more ill have time to wonder round.
the d2 suspension i had been a bit doubtful of worked very well altho it was very pogo like over the mountain. some new arb are needed too as looking at some of the pics i can see why the front tyres where rubbing now lol.

Great day indeed and fantastic weather, good excuse to take the roof off even it it does slow you down a smidge #-o
It was nice to meet afew of you and borrow some tools due to my lack of preparedness . The amount of Mk1s there baffled me i was very impressed :D

I hope to do it again some day without budget tyres on the front and with better brake pads.

Cheers for the passenger as well Garrick, great fun almost as good as driving ;)

Nice pics as well i wouldnt mind a copy of 6912 if it comes a bit bigger :?:
I dont think my camera was up to much, blurred blurred blurred lol.

DAFL - was an excellent session, alas the heatsoak/cooling problem surfaced and you could feel the ECU winding the engine back down the straight and out of mansfield, which kind of hurt my chances of staying ahead with power alone :aghast: will have to work on the Sailors talent.

Once I sort that out, will just have to do it again somewhere else :+:

Also, really impressed with the Paradas, stood up to the abuse pretty well (see the pictures above). I think they are more sticky than A539s, which is no bad thing on our SC, but they are nice and progressive just like the 539.. so full :+: from me on those.
