[Mk2] [NA] Rev 1 or 2

My Mk2 was first registered 01/08/91 hence a"J" plate, i take it that it is a Rev 1, am i right ?

I'd say most likely rev 1 but may be wrong. I have a file which references VIN's to years / months of manufacture. If you like, drop me a PM with your E-Mail address and I'll send it to you. Alternatively yahoo something like "MR2 VIN numbers" -there's lists out there on the tinternet. There are subtlties like the shape of the trim which you can tell. But I can never remember, and the trim can be changed.

My NA was a J plate and that was a Rev 2.

The obvious differences are the alloys (if standard). 14's on the Rev 1 and 15's on the Rev 2.

The front splitter juts out further on the Rev 2's as well IIRC.

mines a uk j plater and is rev 2 matey dont rev 1's have toblerones aswell on front of wings and rev 2's have them just in front of doors

Discs are bigger too on Rev2, that's a big tell tale

toblerones are your indicators triangular things by the side of your front indicators that flash at the side, unless yours is a rev 2 like mine where you have round ones that are just in front of door i changed mine for clear one's

Oh.....! I thought UK spec. had indicators before the door and imports had them on the trim by side light.

rev1 rev2 and rev3 japanese cars all had toblerones from the factory

rev1 rev2 rev3 rev4 rev5 uk cars all had side repeaters behind the front wheel. As did rev4 and rev5 imports
