[Mk2] [NA] 10th anniversary certificate or verification? PICS of the car..Please help!

Post by darrenmr2 »

I found out today that my car IS infact a 10th anniversary model (thanks patrick :thumleft: ) But it has NONE of the 'limited edition' bits on it (no wooden wheel, no badge number, no anthracite wheels or badges and no stainless sill plates!)

BUT it IS 199 silver which is the 10th anniversary model silver. Now the question im asking is there any type of certificate or document i can get to prove my car is what im saying it is? Patrick had mentioned he thought there was some japanese document of some sort floating around IMOC...anyone? Will put a couple of pics up of the car (yes i know 10th anniv models came with anthracite wheels and my car has them on in the pics, BUT the lad i bought it from said he bought them off Ebay as he removed his 17's when selling the car, so even those wheels dont appear to be standard!)

And the wheels are now gloss black anyways :thumleft: The car does have black bilsteins on though (which only came as standard on an N/A if it was the 10th anniv. model) These are soon to be replaced with TEIN super streets though, thanks again patrick :thumleft:

Hi Darren, small amount of confusion in your post.
First and foremost your car is a Japanese Import Anniversary edition rather than a UK Anniversary edition. Alas there were differances between the two.

The JDM model doesn't have the following.
Wooden steering wheel. (Usually a Momo unless it's been removed)
Badge number
Fairly sure the Jap spec didn't have the Anniversary sill plates too.

Both UK and JDM editions would have had Anthracite wheels.

Nice looking car by the way!

<edit> I've just checked against the pics of my old rev3 JDM anniversary edition and in fact the Jap spec *does* have the stainless steel sill plates...</>

Thanks Rowland, thanks Patrick...top blokes :thumleft: So my car IS a JDM anniversary model then, cool :D But rowland no sill plates as i said to Patrick earlier. Like he said they have prob been sold or robbed! Ordered the anthracite badges earlier from toyota (front and rear £20, not bad i dont think!) Want them on just to finish the car off. Kinda wish id kept the anthracite wheels now as well...oh well never mind the gloss black does look awfully shiny 8) Thanks again people, feel a bit better now knowing its a limited edition model!

You can still buy the sill plates directly from a Toyota Main dealer matey.
The other bits in all honesty I think you'll struggle with...

Where did the original brouchure pic come from? Surely someone must have the full lot? Gutted, really fancied those Bilstein stickers for the car..nevermind! Any ideas on price for the sill plates?

Let us know if these are the correct darker ones for your car.
I tried ordering these and the parts bloke came back with a sheet of prices and I noticed the part numbers weren't the ones I gave him, to which he replied that the part numbers were superseded by the 'standard' parts
Sneeking bugga never told me though - lucky I noticed!

Also, JDM anniversaries never got the darker Toyota emblem on the rear, only UK versions.

are the metal sill plates not flush with the plastic trim? ie do you have two big bits missing from your sills?

btw you can get the sills here

edit, #-o just looked and they're only generic door sills

Anniversary edition cars were only available in lucerne silver or carribean blue - the exterior colour was part of the specification. So unless your car has been resprayed, I'm afraid it can't be an anniversary car. The special edition parts must have been retrofitted.

If you want to PM me with your model number and frame code I can confirm for you.

Thats what i thought when i first got the car and it is genuine, but there are no signs of a respray and it has all the JDM annv parts right down to the black billies bilstein shock

I want those stickers!! The 10th anniversary/bilstein ones! Am going to try toyota 2moro to see if there is any way of them sourcing them/getting hold of them. They have been quite helpful in the past with me so fingers x'ed! Will also ask them about the sills and get a price. Thanks for the help and comments guys :thumleft:
