[Mk2] [NA] nur spec rattle

Post by Will_MR2 »

had a rattle on my nur spec for a while now but not really had the weather to check it.

It sounds like something is lose when you stop accelerating and let it drop. I tried putting extra washers on the hangers and that made it a little better

i took the mute out and now its alot better but still can hear it very slightly.

Can the baffle or ute be broken at all? I really want it back in as cant hear anything without it lol :thumleft:

Anything else anyone could think it could be?

I have a similar rattle on my HKS turbo exhaust, happens just at 2000rpm and as thats where the engines sat 75% of the time its bloody annoying and embarrasing. Looked under the car as best i can but i cant see anything :-k

I found with the Nur that the soot build up stops it rattling, once you take it out and disturb the soot it rattles.

It doesnt help its only held in with one bolt too, I'd be tempted to drill it and fix with a second nut and bolt, pretty sure that would help :)

like i said it seems to have stopped but if it starts again i think drilling i extra screw hole may have to do :D
