[Mk2] [Turbo] 3rd gear is clunkin when u change down.can any 1 help?

hi i was wondering if any 1 could help me? when i vhange down through the gears it clunks in to 3rd gear i was wondering if any 1 nows how this is coursed and how 2 fix it as its really stressin me out. any ideas any 1? thanks

If it clunks everytime in 3rd then it's probably a worn syncro. Only real solution is to change the box or rebuild it. Changing the oil might help reduce the noise a bit.

Quick fix is to let the revs fall lower than 3000rpm then engage 3rd, no crunching

I would'nt worry too much about it mine did it for 16 months before i was forced to change the engine ( which came with a gearbox ). Like the other guy said let the revs fall before you change down , you will get used to it.

My 3rd gear crunched for 2 years, never got round to sorting it. I learnt how to change very gently so it hardly made a noise. Lol.
