[Mk2] [Generic] Fusebox Covers (Mirror Stainless)

Post by Poohbear »

I'm not sure if I have this in the right section or not, feel free mods to move it if necessary.

As some may know I am currently selling one or two exhaust manifold heatshield covers for Rev1 & Rev2 NA's, made out of mirror finish stainless steel.
A few people have suggested that I also manufacture and sell front & rear fusebox cover plates made out of the same material. I have made some prototypes (see pic below) and the purpose of this post is to gauge interest to see if it's really worth me having some manufactured.
They are very difficult to photograph and show the finish but they are mirror finish.

Image

The ones I have made are just plain mirror finish stainless and the intention is to supply stickers/sheets to attach to the inside to keep the relay/fuse legend (see pic below)

Image

I am also investigating the cost of having the legend etched into the mirror finish on top of the plates if that's what people would prefer, this would also bump up the cost quite a bit I think, but it's an option and I could make them side by side...opinions from people would be good.

Image

Again I would just like to point out that these are not for sale at the moment but if there is enough interest then they can be.

Can't see why it would be a problem 2 people offering the same products...nothing wrong with healthy competition, and my design would be different anyway.

However I don't have any intention of selling heatshields on here just yet, if I do decide to make some people will vote with their money so to speak.

Good luck with your enterprise though...Bob

Unfortunately I don't own a turbo so don't have a firewall shield to use as a pattern, maybe someone who has can make one.

Hi peeps,

Bit of an update, I've done the Autocad drawings of the covers.... see below, just waiting for prices at the moment, for lazer cutting and etching. Can someone check out their Rev3 + fuseboxes and turbo fuseboxes and let me know any differences in the legends please.
