[Mk2] [Turbo] High Beams Not Working

Has anyone come across my fault before or do i need an auto electrician?

When i try and use my high/full beam the blue light on the dash comes on, but the high beams dont work!!!

From what i can tell, the switch assembly is all in 1 with the washer/ light controls, is it just a case of changing this assembly?

Or is it worth checking fuses/ bulbs 1st

I know this doesnt help a lot but ive developed a slightly similar problem.

My dipped lights dont work but my high beam does, also my high beam dash light is permenantly on (even when set to dipped beam).

I took it to a garage today, they checked all the fuses and he said they where fine, power is getting to the lights but he said something about it was getting 3 live feeds, but it should only be receiving 1.

Im going to take it to an auto electrician tommorrow to see if i can get it fixed, i'll let you know how i get on so you can see if your problem can be solved in the same way.

Just got back from the auto electricians, it was the switch assembly that was at fault.

Went to a scrappy and got a replacement, took me 20 mins to do the swap and the lights are fixed

Thats kind of what i figured, just ordered complete unit from a guy on ebay, he says it is fully checked etc. Just hope i get before weekend

I hope that you checked the bulbs first... The bulbs are dual filament and I've had both of mine burn out at the same time before (but the dips still work)

Just got car back from Millway in Andover, they serviced it and checked it over, it was a loose wire!! So i now have complete light/ winscreen washer switch asembly, tested fully working, all writing etc in good condition ofr sale
