[Mk2] [Turbo] Car Valuation?

Post by ste_brough »

Been considering putting the car up for sale for a couple of weeks now, I originally bought the car just for weekends as I only live 10 mins walk away from work, but am now thinking it's just a waste jut sat there. Trouble is with the stupid low prices that some 'mint' MR2's are going for now put's me off selling!

However before I bought this one I looked at some supposedly 'mint' examples (as described by their owners) and they were far from it!

Some estimates from you guys would help, to see if I've judged the current market right!

Car is a '96 (P) Rev 4 Tubby in Sonic Shadow with T-Bar. Mileage is 39500, had full check over by John Noble in Chesterfield (inc Turbo). They gave the all clear, with an advisary on the fuel pump, so I had that replaced by them with a rogue motorsport pump. Bodywork is faultless bar a small scratch near the fuel filler cap.

Only a few mods, HKS SSQV, Induction Kit, dastek unichip, xs-power exhaust with blitz downpipe, Dyno'ed at 296bhp with similar torque figure.

Any help apprciated guys!

i would value it at between 5 and 6k but it would be hard to sell even at that price due to the market being very depressed at the moment

Yep id say 6k max.

The bad thing is the market might get even worse with more rev5's coming in now.

I ended up selling my rev3 for £2550 on ebay :(

Nearer summer you should get what you want just dont be in a rush to get rid like I was.

you would get more money by selling your mods seperately and selling the car as near standard as you can...maybe put in a mbc and leave any bodykit as it is... :-k

with that mileage,if it was mine i wouldnt accept less than 6k.
but as others have said, the market isnt great! so it depends really how badly you want to sell, and what your willing to accept?

i would just wait for the right buyer :thumleft:

Still for Sale

Hi, a friend of mine said that your Rev 4 might still be for sale. Is this correct? I am in the market for another turbo and have been looking for some time to find a nice example. What money are you looking for? Regards, Darrel
