well mine is going. the battery light and the raidator and it think is the cooler fan for the engine but is there any way of keeping it going for while. ive herd that wd40 keeps it goin for a bit and hitting it. the problem ive herd is because of oil gathering on it . i have a new alterternator to fit but i dont have time ate the moment as you have to remove it from undereath the car. any solutions or advice when changing . this is my first mr2 and i dont have much knowledge apart froM what ive been told as im only 18 and need a bit of advice

the oil is gathering on there because you prob got a leak from the rocker cover gasket , common thing . as for keeping it going ........... i wouldnt , get it changed as soon as ,,,, i had mine done in my work and they quoted me 35-45 mins for the job :lol:

I just had this problem with mine. Bought a new alternator and battery and stll had problems.

Take it to a garage and get them to take your alternator off and over haul it, will be full of oil no doubt.. Fix your rocker cover with a new gasket to stop it leaking and fit alternator back. You might even have to have a charging mechanism fitted like i did as mine was knackered.

Problem sorted.
