Pete

I think you should keep the mk1 as well. You know you will miss it.

I must admit though that is a nice Mk2. Had a run in it last year at Le Mans

Automatic though. You must be getting lazy.

Look forward to seeing it again in the flesh

Jinx,

The electrical hook up isn't something we have needed in the past. I think Bill had it last year with the trailer tent. I didn't realise Mrs Ingram was brining anything big enough to require that much power!!! Looking forward to seeing how that's going to fit into the 2... :oldtongue:

More about the welcome party at the White Rabbit. Ok it will start around 7pm in the garden, I'll try and keep/book 4 or 5 tables together. We are going to eat 1st and then have a few beers and a laugh. Theres alway an fantastic atmosphere just before the BIG trip!

I was thinking about all the fellas dressing up like Steve McQueen in the 1971 film Le Mans, bit of a laugh like, what do you think. You can buy the jackets quite cheap from Ebay with the Gulf and Porsche colours. Like last year my now famous ice cream jacket will make another appearance.

Was thinking a little smething like this, eh lads!!

Jinxy,

Yea, you will need euro's for petrol on the way down before we get to Le Mans. We normally get about £200 in euros for the both of us. Theres plenty of cash machines in the town centre and at the BIG supermarket.

As an alternative you can use your credit cards just about anywhere so it's not essential that you carry it on the way down.

Roll up, roll up for your gino ginelli ice cream

The ice cream jacket is a classic.

LE MAN DECAL

I have been speaking to michael and i am arranging stickers as i did last year for those who want the le man door and bonnet stickers.

I will do them in packs of 3 and the cost will be £15. These can go on the doors and bonnet.

If you have a dark car then the writing is done in white as in the back Mk2 above if light car then they are done in white

If you look at Michaels and my car above (White & Blue) then you will see them.

I can also arrange quarter window small ones again as we did last year if we get a demand and these are £2.50.

If you wish a set just give me a PM telling me what you want eg 1 set of 3 in white or black and any window stickers. I will then get you to forward the payment to me and i will take the stickers with me. These were put on to the cars on route last year.

cheers

Shane

PS - better get on to ebay before you lot for the ice cream jacket :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Just had good news back from Dominique, the owner of the Chateau de Chanteloup. I am told that we will be camping next to the TOYOTA CLUB of FRANCE. I've had a look on their website but guess what, it's in French, how inconsiderate.

http://www.clubtoyota.fr/

If anyone can make any sense of this please let us know.

www.chateau-de-chanteloup.com

Website for the Chateau De Chanteloup. As you can see from the website tariffs are 10 euros per person per night, about £7.00

Remember to take swimming trunks are their are 2 pools there with grassed sunbathing area. Unfortunately with last years rain we didn't need to venture into the pool #-o

Right the plot thickens, its not the Toyota Club of France camping with us, it's the French MR2 Owners Club. How cool is that, here is the email sent from their Clubs president to Dominique @ the chateau reserving their camping spaces.

From: Vice-Président du Club MR2 France
To: [email protected]

Subject: Réservation du Club Toyota MR2 France pour les 24h du Mans 2008.

Bonjour,

Sportivement

Jean-Christophe MOREAU (alias Jhiss)

Email sent to Jhiss, the President of the French MR2 Club:

Hi Jhiss,

Not long to go now till the BIG event @ Le Mans 08. How are your plans going. Dominique has informed me that our 2 clubs wil be campng together @ the Chateau De Chanteloup. We are extremely excited that our Clubs will have the opportunity to come together in France and enjoy the Le Mans experience. We have our own forum dedicated to this years MR2 TRIP LE MANS 08. Here is a link to it:

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=72545

At them moment we have around 20 MR2's attending, this will probably rise to around 30 MR2's come June. I thught it would be a good idea to keep in touch with each other and share progress on the plans for the trip.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Michael,

Let me reply you here, so that you won't have to copy/paste my answer ;-)

The French MR2 Owners' Club has been to Le Mans for 7 years.
We often tried to go and see you at the chateau, but we somtimes missed eachothers.
We still met some of you in 2003 and one of you last year.
In fact, we were used to go to a nice and quite camping in Ecommoy.
This is the place where we've been invited by the MR2 DC in 2002.
We liked Ecommoy very much as it was not too expensive, and better and better every year. It is also a place where policmen never come (Certainly in favor of the the few restaurants of that town :-k ). As a consequence, it's also a great place to see supercars (like Ferrari ..) running in the streets ..

Last year, when we went to the Chateau to meet you all once again, we talked to Dominique Souffront who shows us all the camping and its equipments. We thought that it would have been a better place for us (especially with this dreadfull rain). We also realised that you were more and more numerous from year to year. But, once again, you were not there when we came ](*,)
So what would be the best way for us not to miss you this time ?

I've then decided to install my tent next to you all this year.
I sent a message on our forum yesterday to ask all the French members to come with us to the Chateau this time. I hope we'll have many volunteers.. I'll keep you informed anyway :thumleft:

Looking forward to meeting you all this time :D

Jean-Christophe MOREAU,

A very BIG welcome to our forum link for MR2 LE MANS 08. It's an excellent idea that you have decided to camp with us for 2008, you certainly won't miss us this time. I firstly met you in 2004 when you came over to the site with some fantastic looking MR2's, so I'm really looking forward in seeing some more superb examples again.

What day do you plan to arrive @ the chateau and when will you be leaving. I'll continue to brush up on my French but I'm sure ''pass the bottle opener'' is universal in any language :D :D

Ok, keep in touch and we look forward to meeting members of the French MR2 Club soon.

Hi Jean-Christophe

Just had a look at your garage on IMOC and that is a lovely MR Spider there. Can't wait to see it in June and meet the rest of the French Club.
