Might have to get some of these. After driving modern cars and going back to the 2 the washer jets just feel naff.

I have the PIAA wipers, they seem to smear the screen a little, dont know if its the wipers or the rainx i use that cause's it though, would be nice to get rid of the smear though.

I bought some today and they are pretty good but I think that there must be different ones for the left and right side of the bonnet, with these being the drivers side ones. I say this because the passenger one doesn't cover the windscreen as well as the driver side, which covers it very well!

I am thinking of popping down to Toyota again to see if there is indeed different ones for the left and right.

Also, like someone else said, the bit the piping connects to is not at a 90 degree angle and the pipes pull on the washer making it lop sided. This can be easily solved with some longer piping and/or something like a rubber cut down to size to prop it back to how it should be sitting.

I tried these out today and I'm afraid itrs not a mod I recommend :-(

It is easy to do, just up your bonnet, pull off the water fee piped, push out your old jets, take the oppotunity to clean the bonnet area with a bit of T-Cut, push new jets back in and re-connect pipes. On;y problem I encountetred was that the pipe on theoriginals are L-shaped whereas the Yaros ones are straight so had to strech ipipe yo fit over them.

So why dont I like them?

1) Most importantly, because of the angle they are at when you first press the washer button they fire the water at th back of the wiperr blades so they dont wet the screen at all. Also, the angle is too low for my likeing and they only spray onto bottom half of screen. The angle doesnt appear to be adjustable.

2) Dont know whether its thepipe being kinked slightly because of aforemenioned 'L' shape to straight pipe but they dont appear to put as much water on screen.

Thumbs down from me afraid :-(

3) They are a little bit taller than originals so stand out a bit more on bonnet making them look less sleek.

1) they do wet the screen no bother at all but yeah it would be grand if they could be adjustable - I suspect the shape of the yaris bonnet / windscreen and it's pump strength
2) increase the pipe length on passenger side and put a new longer pipe on the driver side
3) true they do stick up further but it's hardly and issue - TOM scoops do far worse

they do work very well jeff ;)

jeff - in your shoes I agree that's a good policy. Personally I like the washers but yeah they aint no drop in fit and forget. Maybe astra set of jets, similar bonnet line?

I actually think the jet they produces not as good. I think the problem is as youve said i sthat the angle of the bonnet is not condusive to the spary going high enough up the screen. What makes it worse is that I have a spoiler on my wiper which doesnt help.

BTW if someone thinks their standard jets arnt good enough try poking a pin down the holes and wiggleing it about to clean them - really improves them! ALso, to adjust them use either same said pin or p[aperclip straightened out and by traial and error you can move the nozzles to point wherevr you want. Soaking them in something like kettle descaler or malt vinegar would clean clean them out too.

Oh well, I probably won't order a set now.

...there's 2 things which I've personally found better.

1: use spoilerless blades, I found that blades with spoilers tended to drag across the screen at any decent speed -spoilerless is smoother on mine and clears more of the screen in a single sweep. I only use Bosch ones and change them relatively frequently.
2: stopped using any screen treatments like Rain-ex or Autoglym glass cleaner -tried a few others as well which are supposed to put a film on to help shed water. They've all created more smearing than with a clean screen for me.

Another tip from me is to clean the windscreen with Meguires Claybar....it removes all the greasy build up and stops the wipers from smearing.

Part# if anyone wants one:

Comparison between Original (on Left with 'L' shaped exit hose) and Yaris (on right with straight hose). Makes it a bit awkwartd to get the hose over the end of the pipe - you have to stretch it. ALso, you can see how the Yaris jet sticks up a bit more - its not as sleek as original.

I fitted some of these yesterday and have to say I kind of agree with Jeff, it is a shame that it isn't adjustable as it hits mid spoiler on the blades. One thing I will say is that at 80mph it still works well.
Also you dont have to squirt as long either.
As for the lack of 'Ls', is a slight shame but I bought a little extra pipework at the same time and so isn't a real problem.

Wouldnt surprise me if there ius a Yaris forum with suggesting a mod of fitting MR2 washer jets as they are sleeker and work better LOL!

Seriously though, take your originals off then soak them in malt vinegar for a couple of hours to descale them (the clear stuff not thge stuff you put on your chips!)

Seem to remember these as an option being put forward on the Lexus forum. Owners of earlier cars mentioned them but then other people said that newer models (iS200) had an updated washer that was better,

Not sure about how sleek the later Lexus ones are or how they get the water on the screen. Maybe the problem wuth the '2 is the angle of the screen.

Seem to remember there were loads of different part numbers as they come colour coded.

I'll post up anything I can find.

Think someone needs to go to a toyota forecourt and look around and test some out. Might find something that is more suitable.
