you'll wanna ditch the 17's mate and get some stockers on there :thumleft:

If by ideal you mean useless, then yes

And you get no benefit from doing a burnout with road tyres. :thumleft:

I just can't see you being horrible enough to your car to side step the clutch! :D

My brother ran a selection of old tyres on the 1/4 mile (he's 10th in the table ), we tried 18" Michelin Pilots - 1 run on those, hardly any traction in any gear, 17" BF Goodrige - Not much better. We found the best option for us was 15" Nangkangs, managed to get a 12.1 @119.6mph on them. If you are going to use 17's, go for the higher sidewall. We struggled to get near the 12's on the larger tyres, but ran about 7 runs in the 12's on the crappy 15's.

On another note jimGTS how do you find the 40 profile compared to the 35?
Why did you change to the 40 profile as 245/35 is a nye on stock rolling radius?
I have 245/35/17 and am due a tyre change.

looks a hell of alot better, and matched the profile at the front....
i know its now 1-2% more out on the speedo, but for the looks alone im happy....

initially, bedding in and getting used to the profile, was very scarey, lol, felt more flex in the tyre due to its height on fast corning...but settled down after 50miles or so (and got used to them), and i have alot of confidence in them now...
the ride is also alot less harsh at the rear. tho i did intially feel i could feel the road better on 35 as there were a lower and harsher profile....now its fine and i wouldnt go back to 35s.

the visual difference believe it or not is quite alot....
