[Mk2] [Generic] Replacing Dashboard lights

Post by thealternater »

Hi,

I havent posted much up here, I'm sure there is probably a post to answer my question but I cant find it! Basically I have two little issues, i think one of my dashboard bulbs have blown (the right side of the speedo) and I wanted to know if its easy to replace. Also related to this is sometimes my lights on the temperature gauge/fan lights dont come on, sometimes they do although this has only just started happening - very strange.

My other thing is that the airbag light on my dash is now on constantly - I have a 1996 G Limited. Has anyone else ever had this? I presume it maybe the airbag switch but I havent a clue on where to start looking for it!

Any help appreciated!

To replace the speedo pod lights, the center vents panel has to come out plus the trim over the top of the steering wheel, the push in trim above the speedo.

Once this is all out then the speedo is held in by 2 screws I think, then the pod should come free.
