[Mk2] [NA] Revisions

Post by placebo786 »

Hi guys just wondering what year/reg do the revisions change.
Mine is an M Reg which is considered to be a revision 3 but i can only find one other revision to the mk2 before this one in that was the 1992, therefore technically making my 94 model a rev 2 not 3 :? .
Sorry to be pedantic and I maybe wrong forgive me if I am but can anyone enlighten me further on this matter.
Cheers.

I think they changed roughly around every 2 years with the 1st being relseased in 1990. i think 93 on is a rev 3 though (check wikipedia lol)

Yeah thats my point if the mk2 was introduced in 89/90 then that wasn't technically a revision it was a complete overhaul of the mk1. Therefore the 92 model was the first revision of the mk2. Effectively making the round rear light model L/M reg (which they also made less tail happy :( ) the second revision thus making it a rev2 not rev3.
Anyone following.
Its being pedantic but I just wanna clear it up.

The mk2 had 5 revisions in total, the UK saw all 5 of them unlike the US.

Rev 1 (1989 to 1991 I think) and rev 2 (1991 to dec 93 I think) differ, so too do rev 2 and rev 3s.

Rev 3 ran from Dec 1993 if I recall rightly so you have a rev 3 :thumleft:

no-one gets what he is trying to say

1989-1991 was the first model ,it was not a revision of the first model it is it

Therefore the model which came out in 1991-1993 (refered to as a rev2)
was actually the 1st revision of the original model ie"" revised ""

so the 1993-1995 should be revision 2 and not revision 3 as we call it
technically that is ,i know nobody will change but hey

so in summary there were 5 versions of the mk2 in total ,the original version from 1989-1991 and a further 4 revisions

the mk1 boys have got it better

i see what your saying but the first rev is classed as a 1 even though it was the first and didnt strictly have a number....

its like home alone then home alone 2...

rev 3`s started end off october 93

Thank you 3sgte you got my point across better than I could.
It doesn't really matter but it's something that has always bugged and talking to other MR2 owners near me they could never get what I meant.
