My mr2 turbo :(

Post by grayboy »

some of you may know that i have no other choice but to sell my mr2 ,

I am very disappointed that I have to put my car up for sale, but I am in the middle of buying a house with my girlfriend and we can see no other way of getting the money that we need. So my turbo has to be sold. As you read on you will on it will become clear of the amount of work and care that I have put into my car. The car is slightly modified, but it hasn't been cheaply done. I am a member of 3 mr2 owners clubs and a total enthusiast about my car.

The details of the car are as follows...

she is a 1992 rev 2 T-Bar Turbo with 74415 on the clock. she has been serviced every 3k by myself for the entire time I have owned it. The last service was done last week which was an oil change. she also has serviced history and previous M.O.T.'s from the previous owners and all the receipts from the items which I have bought.

it has just flown through its MOT so it has 12 months and 6 months tax on it .

The car comes with...

Rev 4 alloy wheels painted in anthrite (all tyres have plenty of life left)

Fensport lowering springs

New brakes discs and red stuff pads 6 months ago

A custom HKS exhaust which is 3inch going into a 4.5 inch back box

A 3inch downpipe

An st205 charge cooler upgrade (with interior temp display)

apexi induction kit

Hks dump valve

Razo turbo timer

New radiator fitted

New alternator fitted

New Battery

Greddy oil catch can

Original MR2 Floor mats

Central locking

Alarm / immob

MP3 / DVD head unit and Sony rear speakers

I have also added to the mr2 the crystal clear corner indicators and tinted rear lights and had the roof painted in a solid black finish by my local body shop to give that extra something to the cars appearance.

Since i have owned the car i have had the cam belt and tensioners replaced by 3s services in February. I replaced the rocker cover gasket and gave the car a compression test and the results were strong. I have replaced the radiator , alternator , drop links , all belts etc on the car , not because they were broken but just for peace of mind , So you could say that the main basics of the car are brand new with in the last 2 years.

As a common fault on the rev1/2 mr2 turbo, the air con cannot be regassed so I have removed the belt and the pipe work underneath so I could run the pipes for the st205 charge cooler upgrade. The air con pump is still there, so if you wished, new pipes are all you need to get it going again.

The interior is in great condition with 1/2 leather seats . The drivers seat has a very small tear in it , the passenger side seat has no tears and is in great condition. The dash and other interior parts are like new.

There is NO smoke issues , not a hint of blue or white . I have recently check the turbo shaft for play and there is NO unusual ammount of play.

The only faults I would say the car has is that the front drivers side wing is a little faded , but nothing you notice when the car is polished , and as the car is 15 years old there is the odd stone chip on the front area. The passenger wing has a 5p size dink init where a mate of mine lent on the wing . it may even be possible to push it out from underneath. But as it happened only last week, I haven't had the time yet to get the wing off and fix it. The MRD front splitter aslo has a crack init as i misjudged the height of a kerb , but the car will be sold with standard a replacement.

***** I am after £3000 no offers *****

I would prefer this car to go to someone who is going to look after it like I have. I have spent a lot of time and money on her and id hate to see her go downhill from here

***** Anymore questions or pics needed just ask and I will get them for you *****

Mate hang in there and you should achieve that price, probably not this side of Christmas though...

The car looks great, has low miles and is sensibly priced.

Try advertising it on Pistonheads too:-

www.pistonheads.com

Its free too - woohoo! :thumleft:
