Need Help With Engine Wiring.

Post by Tonester »

hi there, im new to this forum.

ive in the process of doing an engine swap, as my 86 mr2's engine is knacked.

i brought what was supposibly a 1988 mk1b engine.
ive cleaned it all up etc so it looks nice.

all i need are the wiring diagrams, as i am total lost puting the wiring back together.
i would really appriciate it if somone could give me pictures etc of both the early engine and the late engine
thanks
Tony.

easiest way to do this is to use the ECU, harness, injectors and inlet manifold from your '86 1A engine

just follow the harness round its routing and connect all the plugs up as you go (they should all fit more or less where they reach to) there are a couple of unused ones though so dont worry
but it is all dead simple honest

yep as above.... and also remember to slot your old distributor into the new engine, these are NOT interchangeable from mk1a to b ecu's and it will backfire like mad trying to run the wrong distributor

Hi, i think i know what your looking for, your looking for routing diagrams. possibly the easiest way may be to ask if theirs an owner nearby that could meet with you and and get it sorted if you don't route the loom correctly you will end up really confused. all the best Colin
