IMOC downtime

Post by Speedy »

Hello everybody,
Ben and I have spent some time this evening putting the server back together. We are aware that there are some issues at the moment, so if things are a little funky, you'll just have to wait for us to finish pushing things around behind the scenes.

We have had to revert the forums by 24 hours though (from when we turned it off), so we're back at some point late Sunday night / early Monday morning. If you sent PM's on Monday or Tuesday, then you'll need to sent them again. If you posted some pearls of wisdom, then you'll need to post them again. If we moderated you, then we'll have to do it again

Thankyou very much for all of the supportive comments posted over on Luckymonkey, it makes a difference :+: - thanks guys and girls.

BTW - We are still shuffling things around, so don't be surprised if there are some short outrages while we are still playing with bare wires.

We do know what happened, and we are now working to correct the problems. Some people will be getting emails from us. At the moment I don't really want to post up a full account until we think we've totally got on top of it.

You should always use the strongest password possible

http://www.microsoft.com/protect/yourse ... ecker.mspx

If your current password is 'weak' then you should certainly use something much stronger. A random combination of letters and numbers in both uppercase and lowercase is much much better.

That goes for every site though, not just IMOC :+:

Lots of people did, interesting to see how quickly our server can spit out emails as well.. (although I wish it had never been tested).

We're still dicking around behind the scenes btw..

Seems lots of forums got hit the same night - ROC also had a wobbly moment. At least we're all back and fixed though. :thumleft:
