[Mk2] [Turbo] LED Sidelights *Pics*

Post by Craigo »

Decided to finally take some pictures of my homemade sidgelights. I just cant capture a decent night picture to demonstrate what these look like in real life. Instead i've taken a few day pictures and adjusted the contrast/brightness levels to imitate. Any opinions welcome..i think they are 8)

How much would you supply all the bits for so that I could put it in my lights myself? Looks amazing :thumleft:

i bought both sets from hong kong for about 7 pound but i believe these to be the same ones

this mod would be a complete doddle if you didnt have to remove the lense from the actual light unit. its all siliconed in so it gets very messy. for anyone else attemptin this i would reccomend trying to feed the LEDs through the side light bulb hole..only problem there is securing them properly

Looking good craigo....

How many leds did you cut off?? The reason I ask is because it looks like there are a couple not working. I think you have to cut 3 off at a time. Cutting one off will render the other two dead.

Here's a link from ages ago for anyone who hasn't seen it....

This is what the sidelight unit looks like if you get distracted while warming them up.

You could do what u have done there but then get some amber ones and have them along the bottom of the lense. would be quite kool mite give it a try actually. :thumleft:

I found it didnt work very well, the lights overpowered the indicators,
so i used led bulbs instead
