what do yous think of this?

Post by pcp »

right i'm looking a few opinions from you fellas, before you click on the link and think "jesus you could get a tubby for that" take into account i''m in northern ireland and things are always more expensive over here, plus theres not a great choice of mr2s over here.

basically the thing that looks good is the mileage, is there anyway to check if it's genuine?

i'm looking for a rev 3 just cos of the higher spec of the earlier ones, and this is one.

it has had a full RAC inspection so surey that should give a newbie like me a little peace of mind that i'm not gonna drive it away and break down 10 miles away.

the colour scheme is a bit american 80s for my liking, would it need a full respray or do you reckon a competent car sprayer could fix it?

right heres the link, if you click on the thumbs on the right it'll show you a bigger image.

:D

Im sure the year is wrong on it. It looks like a rev 2 to me, and rev 2's stopped production in 93. The give away is the 3 piece spoiler and rev 2 lights. May be wrong though, but im sure im right!

well spotted, never noticed the lights, still learning about mr2 so things like that don't immediately spring to mind, reckon if it's 93 or earlier then the mileage has got to be wrong, ah well, back to searching again :(

Nope, you can get people who dont do many miles in cars, especially if its a second car!

Dont be too negative in your approach, but also dont allow yourself to become naive!

i know, cheers for the advice m8, maybe give the dealer a call and ask him who is he trying to kid with the year, might still consider it if he knocks a whack off it!

did the earlier revs have airbags tho? doesn't mention it there but does on auto-trader

cheers m8, you can see the reg in the photos tho, it's a k-reg, so i think that is either a 92 or 93? not too sure, our reg work differently over here, they are always 3 letters then 4 numbers, looks like this is just falsely advertised :(

yeah i was thinking that myself, only problem would be is that i could get it and it would be a duffer :(

the other week i saw a decent one in that keighley place, low mileage decent price and i was considering flying over and driving it back, so glad i searched about on the net first, apparently all theiur cars are dodgy :(

my search continues...

I think you can have a rev 2 on an early 94 k plate....making it the latest rev 2 you can get.....very low mileage and i like the paint job. Wonder if it was done after some accident damage though maybe ??? :D

I sent it twice but don't know where it went, anyway the gist of it was that I've got this for sale and I'm not too far away. In fact I think I once overtook you near the Reebok stadium and you put a post in the "spotted" section a while back.
