Just thought I would share a few pics with you since the last ones when I'd just got him back from the body shop. Now all back together (apart from no plates!) and first wash and polish am really pleased with him all the hard work has paid off!
Cheers Dave, I know it has taken a while!! I knew you'd get another one you've been bitten by the bug no going back now!!
Thanks Edwin, it's not actually a border bonnet it's a fibreglass vent cut & moulded into my original one. Glad you couldn't tell the difference though it's worked!!
Aye it's about time sex kitten!! Well done mate for going through with it. Have you gone for mr2 seats or the more often used wooden stools? You and Carla up for a meet sometime soon?
I kept falling off the wooden stool so yes had to put the old leather seats back in!! Good to hear from you Phill hope you and Mel are well, will be up for another meet but won't be in the MR2 as it's sorned now til the spring don't want to get it dirty in the winter!!
Hey Sweete. Sorry but only just seen this thread. I'm wondering if you can tell me more about how you fabricated the bonnet and what parts you needed to source?
Looking good by the way, thats great work.
Thx.

Splashnatz - I told you it just needed a bit of T-Cut!! I am really chuffed it looks exactly how I wanted. Did you have fun with my old engine lid and the angle grinder then?!
Hi Rob, the vent i have in the bonet can be bought from Ebay was about £60 for a fibreglass piece they still sell these so have a look. then a hole was cut in my original bonet slightly smaller than the vent it was then bonded and smoothed in. It has the border look without the price of a carbon fibre one and has the rigidness, fit and safe catch of the original.
Let me know if you need anymore info.
