Hi all,

I've been around for while, at first only reading posts and afterwards with a more active role.

The transition was so smooth that at the time I forgot completely to properly introduce myself.

Until recently that I noticed other members presentations and thought that it's about time

(rather late then never) to do it myself.

So, here it goes:
I'm Portuguese

(yes, poor but with lots of sunshine

), 30 year old living at Porto.

Married and father of a little baby girl.

Currently working for Qimonda AG as a IT engineer.

Car related, I'm a fan of everything with a motor basically

But somehow, my life always took me at one point or another close to Toyotas.

When I took my license, I started driving a Corolla 1.2, 1978 model I believe.

RWD, light, bullet proof reliable.

.

.

And I was addicted to RWD.

Good school too.

.

.

almost killed myself a couple of time.

.

.

but in the end, learned a lot from it.

Then to a Corolla 2.0D 1993 model.

Rubish behaviour wise but once again never let me down.

After dropping it 30mm behaved much better although almost lost my teeth a couple of times.

After that drove away from Toyota to Alfa Romeo.

Loved them.

.

.

specially the 1.6 147 for its road holding and playful rear end.

After the 1.6 went for the 1.9 JTD which wasn't so good.

Anyway, after that got married and needed a family car.

Bought a 307 1.6 HDi SW but needed something to keep my racing heart beating.

.

.

Then the 2 was found.

Standard red rev 1 N/A with 40k on the clock.

It has potential although it needs many uplifts

(still on the 14'' wheels, paint is more pink than red in some places, stereo is gone but mechanically it is very sound).

But love to drive it and it is so good with standard suspension, bad skinny tires that I can only imagine what it could be like properly setup.

By the way, here is a picture of the thing:

That's my history.

Regarding the forum.

.

.

it's addictive.

First time in my life that I actually like shopping!

People are great, helpful and never had a bad experience so far.

I recommend it to everyone I come by with a 2.

Best of luck with your pride and joy

(and life in general).

If you ever come to this part of the world don't forget to horn.

.

.

Cheers,
Vítor
