[Mk2] [NA] Warning Lights

Post by Huw »

Girlfriend's just arrived home huffing and puffing.

Aparently the car was fine most of the way back, then at the end of the road a whole bunch of warning lights came on.

The red (!) one and engine fan (i assume - red with picture of engine and fan on right hand side of dash) on 1 side of the dash and the oil and alternator on the other side.

Car still drove fine the final 200 yards or so home.

It's too dark to have a look at now, but if anyone can give some pointers as to where to start in the morning it would be greatly appreciated. :thumleft:

Car's a 1991 rev 1 n/a if that makes any difference.

warning lights

Had similar problem which turned out to be knackered alternator.
Try checking charge voltage from alternator, should be approx. 14.6volts.
Failing that try checking diagnostic plug and reading fault from there. :?
