Okay folks

Thats us booked into the sh***ing rabbit alias "White Rabbit" for the 9th June 2008 and have booked my ferry to cross on the 10th June. Ferry still £56 if you are happy with the basic ticket.

We are not coming back on the ferry until Friday 20th June as this will give us a bit of time to do a bit of touring from the Monday to the Friday.

I am up for that if anyone else is.

Micheal, keep us up to date with the campsite and when we can book this.

Wonder if you get litre beers in Mont St Michel. They were great in Belgium.

17 MR2's so far, wow!!

With regards to the camping, Domonique won't take any booking till January, so as soon as we get 2007 out the way we can start emailing him with our requirements. The process will be the same as this year, email him and tell him when you will arrive and leave and more specifically ensure you tell him you are part of the TOYOTA MR2 Club group and give him my name as a reference ( Michael Sheavills ) Also explain you want to camp with us in the TOYOTA MR2 villiage.

Ok guys we booked another 2 rooms tonight at the hotel in Maidstone for Monday 9th and theres only a few rooms left now, looks like we have booked the whole hotel..!!!
When all the rooms are gone we are going to have to source alternative accommodation nearby so book your room now. You don't pay for the room till you check in so nothing to pay right now.

howdy guys,

i'm all booked in, except i'm going for the later 17.10 crossing on the way back, as it's cheaper and i seem to recall from this year that making a 1pm crossing would mean getting up and leaving at silly o'clock in the morning..

Thought I'd put up my checklist of things we'll be taking to le mans next year for any newbies out there. Everyones lists will be slightly different I'm sure but this is a good guide that people can add to if need be...

1. Folder containing confirmations, tickets, passports and driving lessons.
2. France map and sat nav.
3. First aid kit.
4. Warning triangle.
5. Spare bulb kit.
6. Hi viz vest.
7. Tent.
8. Map.
9. Picnic blanket.
10. Double li lo and pump.
11. Double sleeping bag.
12. Blanket.
13. Gas cooker and gas canisters.
14. Car washing and polishing stuff.
15. Steering wheel lock.
16. Fold up chairs.
17. Bag of tools.
18. Bag of clothes each with wash kits and towels.
19. Torch.
20. Gas camping lantern. (yes I replaced last years one)
21. Cool bag.
22. Washing up bowl.
23. knife, fork and spoon sets.
24. Bowl, plate and mug sets.
25. Mess tins and Frying pan.
26. Camera and spare batteries.
27. In car phone charger.
28. Fold up water carrier.

With regards to food and alcohol and even basics like washing up sponges, bbqs and water pistols. We buy all that when we get there from the local hyper market as it's very cheap and then just leave it there when we go for domonique to sell on ebay.

Thought I'd add my other checklist from last year that may be of interest to someone who is like me and needs to write everything down to keep organised...

Book White rabbit hotel in Maidstone.

Book return ferry crossing through speed ferries.

Book campsite pitch in le chatteux de chanteloup.

Buy entrance (and grandstand if you want them) tickets from justtickets.com

Buy white (blanc) car parking ticket from justtickets.com

Buy travel insurance

Notify car insurance of trip to france.

Buy European breakdown cover.

Give it time Jinxy Give it time :D :D

Mind you we were flashed by a camera going into the tunnel and i was waiting for the speeding ticket to arrive for this year but no sign. I think about 4 or 5 of us got flashed.

Should be OK now but i will be more careful in 2008.

Peter,

Thanks for posting that list, very detailed indeed and Shane good idea pointing out that horrid speed timed tunnel going down the hill into Rouen. I'm hoping the new road link will be completed by the time we go so no messing around going through Rouen...

Man this trip is going to be the best, its looking like we are going to get 25 - 30 MR2's on this trip, can you imagine what that is going to be like blasting down the N139 towards LeMans, Awesome...!!!

Come on people get your name down you know you want to, don't just read about it and think '' I wish I went '' do it......
