Im with simmo on this one - looks like they've been repaired - is it present on all 4 in an identical way? Any obvious damage on the rims?

thanks for the help
sorry i don`t know about the others i`ve only stripped this one due to not having a spare set of wheels to put on. theres no obvoius damage to the rim and on closer inspection they do appear to be 3 piece, i was hoping to get the centers refurbed but now i`m at a loss as how to get them apart.

centre comes out via the bolts around the inner part of the wheel......

They are 3 piece. The weld mark on the wheel in the first pic is where they have welded the lip to the wheel, then they have bolted the face to the wheel so it fits snug inside the lip :thumleft:

Mine have a weld mark like yours in the first pic but mine are only 2 piece so i can only refurb my face.....

If the centre isnt fixed between the 2 band sections then you can remove it, heat the band up with a blow torch, then when its nice and hot place a block of wood on the back of the centre and give it a good thump with a rubber mallet.

tanks for the advice,
i will try heating the rim up where i think it should split and give it a tap. its reasuring that the line of weld is to affix the flange and not anything more sinister !
