BLOODUK, you ask about the weight the TRD2000GT kit adds

???

Simple answer is that it doesn't add weight, it reduces weight!

Reason is that the original factory steel wings, front bumper, rear bumper and rear quarter panels and bumper crash protection are all pretty heavy in original form.

The TRD ones are all lightweight Fibreglass items so you end up saving about 40kgs!

If your on a T-bar the cars are about 1260kgs, the hardtop's are about 1210kgs

(depending on spec, revision, etc.

) so without any other changes a GT-S based TRD2000GT goes down to about 1170kgs'.

.

replace the seats with carbon fibre items and save at least 12.5kgs PER seat

& a carbon bonnet saving about 5kgs' thats a weight of 1140kgs without any

'major' stuff.

Get more serious and junk the heavy spare wheel, toolkit, air-con, sound proofing, stereo, speakers, fit a lightweight battery and alternator your weight can drop to around 1100kgs.

.

.

Even with light mods to around 300bhp thats a serious power to weight ratio.

.

.

add 500bhp and things get very silly

i don't think people with the

'2 really appreciate how much weight you can save

(assuming its not your everyday car!) and the difference this can make to the car acceleration.

.

Shave 100kgs off your car and you WILL feel the difference guarenteed.

Shafster, any news on the progress with registration as a kit mate???

Cheers,
