[Mk2] [Generic] Any V6 owners in Ireland ?

Post by Spidey »

Just want to find out if there are any MR2 V6 owners anywhere in Ireland, as I'd like to ask if I could test drive one :)

I'm 95% sure I want to go V6 and this would just be the final confirmation

TIA

There's a guy on mr2oc.co.uk that is planning a V6 with Rotrex SC by Paul Woods. But I don't know of anyone who has already gone through with it.

Ta - I'd say I'll do the V6 swap anyway - have you seen the car Paul Woods is doing for Whoozy - a V6 turbo

If I had the money, I'd def go for it. I'll prob go for the V6 NA swap with Head work first and then a year or so later, come back to get turbocharged :D

We used to have MR2 meets every month but it kinda died off about 6-12 months ago. Was great craic - had 16 MR2's out at one run to EnnisKillen. Convoy of MR2's look very cool

Been watching whoozy's alright. There's a big thread about it over on the other forum, updated pretty much daily.

Been thinking about a similar route myself. Jinja's hit 267 fly with just the headwork done. Not bad... Then turbo or SC, depending really on whether or not you want a rear boot

Always wanted to see some sort of meet get going over here. Still relatively rare to even pass an mr2 over here though! I'd say I see another one about once a month.

Not sure if he has an alter ego over here, but he goes by Jinja on mr2oc.co.uk.

There are some dynos here:
http://mr2oc.co.uk/ForumsPro/viewtopic/ ... o+267.html

But I can't see photobucket etc from work, so not sure if the 267 one is there...

I'm so tempted - but I'm just running in my rebuilt engine (had 347fwhpo before build) - planning to run 400fwhp when I turn boost up after the engine is run in (taking far too long as I'm putting up mileage very, very slowly :( ).

So, am 95% sure I want to go V6 - but when I feel the 400fwhp beneath my foot, I may be tempted to stay with a Turbo.

Then again, I want to see what Whoozy's V6 will make - best of both worlds.

Stupid road tax over here is what has put me off the V6 conversion in the past.

yeah, we used to meet up, have a chat, do a few runs, went karting and some car shows etc

There's a Jap Heaven meet in Blanchardstown 2nd Tue of every month at 8pm - a few of us generally go along.

Might pop along to that next time so. I'm actually moving to London in the next few weeks though, so may not be around unfortunately.

Will do! Will be in Isle of Dogs.

Not planning on taking it with me, but planning on rebuying ASAP over there. Second hand cars are worth more over here than there, so it makes more sense to buy newer/turbo over there than go to all the trouble of getting it over and re-reg'ed.

But that's if I can sell it in time... If not I'll take it with me and probably go V6 forced induction of some description.

Let me know if your interested and check out the mr2oc.co.uk . I'm pretty sur Slipside would be up for goin before and after his conversion.
