1989 F reg mk1 Supercharger (SC), Mica Blue, folding mirrors and hi brake light!

Post by anna »

1989 (F) Mk1 SC:

The time has come to sell our 1989 SC, as our other SC is going to be back on the road soon. This is a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) car.

77,000 miles (124,000 km)
Mica Blue
tax until 31st Jan 2008
MOT is due now, so it will be sold with 12 months MOT
Underbody is in top condition and it was professionally undersealed last winter. All arches and sills are in great condition
space saver spare tyre
mk1 tool kit
T-bar model
Personalised plate: A19 GUB (don't ask me why - previous owner decided to do it!)
.... all the extras
This car is one of the last mk1's made, so Toyota but the added extras of electric folding wing mirrors and a third brake light in the spoiler - which I personally think looks really cool :)

The car drives really well, it has been used as a daily driver as well as on two trackdays (although I've been easy on it!), and it has never missed a beat.

Bad points:
Usual shopping trolley dings, and slight scratches to the bodywork
The front spliter and bumper could do with attention after hitting a large bit of mud that fell off a tractor in front of us on our wedding day  one side of the spliter has pushed in a bit, and could do with a paint.
The only rust on the car! but the top of the windscreen has started to get rust bubbles - rust eater has been put on, and would have got it fixed if the windscreen had ever needed to be replaced, but it hasn't, so I didn't get round to it.
Passenger side window is 'jumpy' and needs help to go back up (I assume this is due to teeth being missing on the cog - I think i still have the window mechanisms from when we stripped our silver NA, so you can have these included for free if you fancy doing the repair yourself).
Heat shield on the exhaust rattles
Sump plug seemed to be slightly cross threaded - some ham fisted mechanic no doubt - it is fine, but you get a small dribble of oil from around it (you don't notice the oil level dropping, but will see a small oil patch if it's been standing for a week!). If it's a problem, then you could try and re thread the sump and use a new sump plug, or alternatively drop the sump, and replace the sump and plug at the same time.

I think that's it - as you can tell, I've tried to be as honest as possible, even listing things that you wouldn't know about if a mechanic serviced your car! But i'd prefer to be up front and honest about these things (the amount of times i've gone to view 'mint' cars, only to find rust that comes away in handfulls when you go to have a look at the sills....)

£3000

feel free to ask any questions!

Sorry - i've lost the cable for the camera, so haven't been able to chuck the photos of the inside up yet.

In other news, the car is now provisionally sold.
