unlocking of moderators / committe section

Post by nitric4k »

as mentioned in this thread
http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=80018

hopefully to help build bridges between committe and regular members and also so members can see and understand what goes on behind the sceens

but keep it restricted so that only moderators and committe members can post in it

in doing this i feel that it would help people to understand more of what goes on, why moderator and committe members need to do what they do.

i also feel it will help to keep regular members informed of any problems with users or traders. for our safty regarding sales etc

surely this would help i think it would be like taking the wall down in berlin wall in 89

Will never happen Rob.

All joking aside here, All forums need a place where the mods/committee members can talk. If there is a possible problem with a certain member that needs moderating then this must be put up in an area for all mods/committee members to see before action is taken.

It would be silly to have all members viewing this section.

I know i laugh and joke with you about the mods etc but honestly Rob they do the job well, they really don't need any more flak.... Its an endless task of clearing up xxxx from the forum without people complaing all the time.... Whatever they do someone will always be upset, It's that old saying, You can never please everyone.

I've come to learn that we have this forum here for our use and it is what we make it..... Stick to the rules and there should be no problem, If you see someone breaking a rule report it. Things do get sorted but as Scott says no one mod can make a descision it all gets put through a process.

Theres no need to cause arguments on here.....It's only the internet

Bottom line for all we do - is basically to ensure the Club is available to all UK MR2 entheusiasts.

The Forum Rules are in place to ensure we don't run into Legal issues and to state some 'common sense' rules for posts and content here.

The Moderation Team and Committee basically do a job to ensure the above - and as part of that we do need a place where we can discuss in complete confidence any issues arising - posts, spammers, Moderation action through to Club Admin stuff like the Website, Funding, Events, Legal issues and future club development.

If you'd like to find out more - stand for a Moderator's post at the next Elections and you'll see what I mean.

I think its even better that Spittin has commented on this as he has been a mod. I stand by what he says.

Exactly, I think Spittin is much better qualified to give a reasoned opinion on the state of play. Totally agree with him.

I agree. There are certain areas that do need to be kept private for just the mods and the admin to see. Pretty much all forums are run in the same fashion. :thumleft:
