Examples, linkage?

TBH, I have to say that your attitude seems to be just to constantly do the moderators and admin staff down, without any explanation as to why other than just 'it doesn't feel right'. A lot of people put a lot of their own time into the club to keep it running, and it would be nice if you could be honest enough to tell us what you think these 'problems' are, without just resorting to being abusive and unfair.

this one she jumps in thinking her opinion is right (as usual!)

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... c&start=20

in this shes backing up friends, even though no one knows if they are liars or not? but again laurens word is gospel over anything!

thats just a few examples i could be bothered to find!
why? i dont know.........because nothing will ever get done......as usual!

just because lauren is committee on the site dosent make her god!
and start preaching what she believes to be wrong to others!

for your info speedy,im only getting at one committee member of this club!

and as for saying my posts are abusive,i speak no different to the way im spoken to!

as for unfair,im not the only person who feels this way,but i guess in the committees eyes,of course we are wrong! :-k

well all hell has broken loose on this thread now hasnt it lol

just for the record i have never met dude or infact shared any pm`s to date as far as im aware?

lauren this is not a dig at you and im not trying to start a debate or anything...

but i recall a lot of people actual requested you to stop using text speak or whatever you wanted call it but you refuse to because there is another name for it so thats ok for you.

im not saying stop it as nothing i say will make a difference as im not a committe member nor i have any power on imoc, but if the forum is for members then listen to them its all about a little give and take on things

members do sugest things just look in the sugestions section but alot of stuff just doesnt happen because the committe has the final choice in the matter

imoc is split into groups

us and them

there needs to be a balance on things. and people need to work as a team instead of getting shot down all the time

its like if theres a problem the mods word is final, never to be discussed with other forum members? somtimes alot of you guys need to take a step back and see things both ways instead of one way

alot of people have left this forum some very very good members
and there sadly missed

michael when i first joined really contributed to the site and he seemed a really good guy but hes pretty much gone now, earl and tim just to name a few

this attitude that some of the committe have is our words final if you dont like it leave. and people are leaving, in my eyes somthing has got to give and together people need sort this club out

Michael has a supra dosent he? So i would of thought thats why he dosent hang around here much

Earl's now sold his mr2 so again i wouldnt of thought he''d be on here as much.

Tim got banned

I've had a fair few posts get edited but what can you do, if it breaks the rules it breaks the rules..... sure the mods/admin bend the rules to suit themselves now and again.... suppose its a perk of the job.

@Rob.... Shut the xxxx up and lets go the pub :thumleft:

Would just like to add for all concerned that being 'this side of the fence' so to speak, and Spittinflames can back this up to some extent as a previous mod, people just do not realise the amount of work, time and effort that goes into running this board. I actually sat on a near 2 hour conference call the other night discussing the future of IMOC and how we could improve things. This was my own personal volunteered time. Things are actively discussed at all levels and all decisions are either voted on or agreed as a collective. No one person makes a rule or decision and actions it. I made that mistake as a mod once, and got my wrist slapped for it. Luckily no damage was done.

So please, everybody, rules are there to protect the integrity of the club, the future of the club and the whole existence of the club. They are there in black and white (OK pink and white!) and occasionally, just occasionally, rules need to be modified or updated as the site evolves and changes with society and the pressures it brings.

The comment was made by Rob that members suggest things but they dont happen because we, as committee and mods have the final choice. Too damn right! If we let everything go on the boards that was suggested by everyone you would not be sitting here now on this forum. It would be carnage!

Trust me when i say that every action carried out on IMOC is what we believe to be the best route for the club. Yes, we may get it wrong, and i would be the first to say that i got something wrong, but people have to trust us. At the end of the day we are all MR2 owners as well and are as passionate as the next person.

i personnaly would never not have a problem contibuting to the forum in any way if i was in your shoes, if i was a mod or committe i too would do the same, infact i would do it as a regular member i have no problem at all, perhaps it would be good for regular users to see what goes on why not let users see the moderators section to read but restrict access to for replys only? to be honest i think this would be really bennifit everyone?? so possibly a point to consider dont keep secrets share them :) then maybe we as users can understand more? would also take a huge wall down between the 2 sides to the club. i cant see any harm in this myself can you?

i like your honesty in admitting you have made mistakes in the past and im sure i can speak for everyone and say that your a bigger man for admitting it too. and im sure no one will hold it against you

like you say we all are here because we love mr2`s so why not share some of what ytou guys go through.

i have no problems helping out or at least putting an unbiased point of view across on behalf of forum members

Whilst I can see what you're saying, I think you are over-glamourising the moderating role  The forum is just a load of boring posts explaining each and every bit of moderation done on IMOC, so there is rarely any contribution necessary by anyone. There is no time for anything else tbh, we each give up our own personal time to fulful the role(s). I can't speak for the committee forum as I can't view it...

I think the bottom line is you have to put your trust in the guys in the committee (and moderators), after all they (we) were voted in by the members originally. Someone has to have the final say on all decisions, and as Scott says the decisions are made for MR2 enthusiasts, by MR2 enthusiasts.

I'd suggest that if you want a more indepth view of the 'behind the scenes', then you put yourself forward as a Moderator when new positions become available :thumleft:

that was a very diplomatic responce lol

i knew i voted for you for a reason lol

unforunatly moderater voting is a popularity contest and im as un-popular as a gatso speedcamera placed on nuremberg track

due to the fact that if i dont like somthing im going to say so

and im not sure if that would be moderator material as alot share the same views and stick together where if i thought somthing was wrong i would stick up for members

Whats up with you.... This is the internet ya big fairy, if you dont like something just close the page/view another page.

Does it really matter if someone edits your post, does it really matter if some member calls you a dickhead... especially when they live 200 mile away and you've never met them.

Blimey i think you should start smoking again Rob, You were less of a xxxx then....... only by a bit though

I would like to see Moderators who can contribute to the Sub forums
Mechanicial,Genral,Modifications ect

People with experience in the fields not people with high post counts

Hang on a minute........ I'll quote your first question of "your" thread

robbrookes5 wrote: just a quick question where did the age 13 come from?

17s the driving age so really there shouldnt be users under this age obviously its public forum so anyone can access it but u see where im comin from with the 17 age i just dont see where 13 comes into it

Excuse me for being ignorant but how is that constructive ](*,)

I just dont see where your going with this...... From what i can read it looks like your waiting for someone to say..... "Rob you'd make a good moderator, do you fancy being a mod"

Stop all your moaning and but your effort into something more constructive.... Like washing my car, Now go fetch my sponge b'iatch

You cant moan about how the moderators are elected, How else are they suppose to do it?? Suitability? then you'll just moan that said person wasnt the most suitable... or that the person elected got in because they were up the committees ass.

Why?? Being a moderator has nothing to do with knowing anything about any of that #-o You dont need to be technically minded to be a mod, You just need a lot of patience.

And common sense !! you've missed the most important one out :thumleft:

It would be better for the forum if we tried to utilise the members on here with experience, retaining experience

To be Honest we have Moderators who shouldn't be in the position, I just think it would be a good idea if the people who Moderated know something about MR2'S as well as having a good level head

Sadly it seems a few of them have neither!!!

Common sense :thumleft: I forgot about that your right.

Ok then how would you propose that mods get voted in by knowledge? I can't see how that would work. Who would define whos more knowledgeable?

The members get the vote so we can't really whine about whos a moderator.

The only thing i think should change is how the voting is done, If there are 2 moderator postions up then i think we should get 2 votes.

Why is it down to technical ability on an MR2, we're here to keep a forum tidy, rules kept to & general smooth running, how can being able to change a head gasket yourself make you better at moving a for sale post from member profiles to the correct board??

It's no glamourous job with super powers, we just mop up genaral messy cr@p!!
