I'll start the pot at £10. Anybody else like to add some for the man everybody turns to when their car goes boom? =D> :clown:

Back to topic....

TWINCHARGER UPDATE from my engine builder...

We are currently about to time in the cams, and fit the turbo etc. to the engine. I am away from Tuesday of this week for 10 days and will be hoping to install the engine on the test bed for mapping shortly after my return. I will let you know when this is about to happen. We have to arrange a large enough slot to cope with all the potential mapping problems and set up etc. I would envisage the engine ready to install in the car in early as promised May. This stage would have been achieved much earlier without the interminable wait for the rods.

........ [-o< [-o< :D :D 8) 8)
etc. :)

So chassis mods - complete
Engine - on time!
Only thing left - refresh of paint job!!!!

p.s. I've asked for photos!

Well, im coming along nicely for a change! My chargecooler is well on its way (cheers Dino!) and my suspension mods are all but complete - just need bolting on and testing around donington!.

Im hoping for 450bhp without NOS - to be honest I will be aiming for an 11s quarter, but hoping for a really good performance on the handling circuit.

Really looking forward to this Sunday at bruntingthorpe too :)

11sec quarter is more than respectable mate! So is 450bhp without NoS!!

I could do with a blast in my car round a track for practice...won't have it for this weekend so might have to do a practice day laters.

Hmmn...sounds promising. But I am still suspecting something to not be ready - like this morning I am wondering if they've had the custom clutch made yet or not!

edit: just spoke to them - clutch is in hand!!

They are taking bets with each other on horsepower and torque from the engine

Current guess is 300 of each...without NoS...not bad on an ickle MK1 which will have had some severe lightening by then including various body panels :D

Redline TOTB 4 News update May 2005

http://www.totb.co.uk

We are now pleased to confirm the following clubs/groups will be competing at this years event:

The 200+ Club, GTR Register, Team Subaru, Mitsubishi Lancer Register, Vipers, GTO UK, 200SXOC, Skyline Owners Club, Hondas UK, UK Supras, GTIR-OC, RS Cosworth, RS Turbo, Performance Rover Group, FDUK, CCC UK, Fiat Coupes, IMOC MR2, Corvettes, GT4 OC. The event is now provisionally full for competing clubs; however we are still able to accept entries from individuals and Tuning companies. [email protected]

We have spaces available for both competitors and traders at our Scoobyshootout 2005 event to be held at Elvington on Sunday 22nd May. This is a 1/4m and top speed event, at just £45 to compete and £10 on the gate to spectate. The closing date for entry forms is 12th May. Forms for this and Redline TOTB 4 are available on our website. We would appreciate your assistance in inviting your club members to scoobyshootout to run in a rwyb competition alongside the main event, class prizes and awards are available to non- Subaru vehicles.

We have now confirmed that the Jun Lemon and Top Secret Drag R Skylines will be making an appearance at both Redline TOTB4 and Scoobyshootout. Both cars ran at a recent test day at Elvington, and both turned in10s 1/4m times, with lots more to come. The Top Secret car had not run before in the UK, yet managed an impressive 10.3s 136mph on its one and only full launch!

Trade areas are filling up nicely for the events, with The Organisation looking after the trade and display areas on our behalf. All the competing cclubs can now apply for a dedicated spectator display area for their cars on a first come basis.

To enquire about a trade display area, or to reserve a club display area contact Claire Williams; [email protected]

Other event updates
Unfortunately due to potential noise problems and other issues on site we are not now able to offer general public camping as hoped, we are however still able to offer this facility to traders and competitors for the Saturday night, contact us if you require passes to do so.

We have now confirmed improved P.A, catering, serviced toilets and grandstand seating/raised terrace viewing on site for the event. We will also extend the pitlane area to make access easier for cars and people.

The competitor pitlane will be enlarged and changes made to improve the flow of cars through the pitlane. A separate area for fuel storage will be available to prevent fuel drums being stored in pitlane areas. The handling circuit will have an enlarged viewing area for spectators, to bring the action closer, and competitors will all be limited to a maximum of 5 timed runs during the day to ensure fairness to all.

Finally we?d like to remind people that Redline TOTB 4 spectator tickets are now on sale in advance from the totb website at a discounted price of just £15 per adult. (£20 on the day, kids under 16 free entry with parent/guardian) Official Clubs and groups can take advantage of our special bulk offer to members on entry tickets at just £12.50 per person in advance, contact us for details.

Further news updates will be sent as we move closer to the event.
Bye for now,
The TOTB Team

Michael

Shall we start a thread to see if anyone wants to spectate - seems we should do to get our members £12.50 tickets?

I've decided to withdraw from the running. I'm intending to sell my parts and pay off my mounting credit card bills and overdraft.

The sadly sensible option :(

I've attempted the bulk purchase of tickets 2 years in a row now with no joy - the initial interest is high but when it comes to collecting funds it fails, usual IMOC story :)

By all means have a go but for the sake of a £2.50 saving I'm not sure the hassle is worth it :(

Definately wise to buy in advance and get there early though.

I can't believe the drop outs!!! C'mon guys....

I'll get names and I've got a paypal account for IMOC now, we can give it a go I guess.

From this list who is still live?

1. Andy F
2. Dan B (Hedgehog Dodger) (out I guess)
3. Neil Johnson (jonno)
4. Mark Edwards
5. TON1G
6. James B (possibly out)
7. Stevo Cordi (please don't go!)
8. Chris Huntley (gtschris)
9. Dino (MR2 Mania) (pulled out)
10.

Any new entries? Pistol Pete etc.?

Hey toni,

I'll still happily run my car in similar spec to last year if you want numbers :)

I suffered last year with a massive post AFM vacuum leak giving me off the scale rich A/F ratios and a slipping clutch.

I pulled 12.7 last year, so 12.5/12.6 should be a banker.

Not earth shattering, but still enough to beat alot of the rwd cars and put on a decent representation for IMOC.
