stupid sods you mean  Try putting 2 tents up in a gale force gusting wind with lashing rain! We managed it somehow  and on the bright side when we had finshed putting the tool kits in the tents the rain stopped. So we had a carry out while we waited for the wind to dry us! Worked too, apart from the wet dog smell that followed me around all night (sorry about that :clown: )

Cheers Mike! Much appreciated! (though I'm not sure it's well-deserved)

I love your shots as well - the one over Pete's engine bay really stands out for me! Actually all-round some great shots - I didn't get any good people shots this year - maybe next year!

Unfortunately having had another quick look through the other photos, I'm not (personally) that impressed with how I did (but then I've always been very critical of my own work).

Moving over the weekend - hopefully I'll get a chance to sort through them soon, but right now am really tight for time. Will let you all know once I've done something with them - I promise!

What really hurts is that for the first time I had a play with Sasha's new compact digital camera (a small Canon Ixus or something). That thing - in fully auto mode - was producing shots as well as the ones that I was faffing around in fully manual on the DSLR trying to get 'just right'... Modern technology, eh?

Ahhhh so that was you! Thought it was my feet (my shoes had holes so were letting water in and my feet were getting a slow stew... I was going through 2-3 pairs of socks each day!!!)

:clown:

Does Mark (Portgordon) come on here at all? He mentioned to me he sometimes checks the events section - wonder if he'll see these photos... have one just for him.

Also... should probably say that I'm sorry I was so quiet in the evenings. Partly that's normal for me, but I was more quiet than normal as I was just extremely tired from the weeks before and it turns out (found out as we were driving back on Monday) I was fighting off a cold that ended up hitting me really hard on the Tuesday...

mark is still on holiday so he's not been near a pc since the trip. He will am sure go looking for this thread so he'll catch the current photos and post some of his own no doubt.

No worries about the evenings, driving through that scenery is tiring enough (great though it is single track roads can be tiresome) without having to contend with driving rain storms too. We all had a good time and that's what counts :thumleft:

edit - just saw this on one of the vids - the man is a goof ball

LOL - Mark is brilliant...! I forgot that he was going away this week... #-o
Still really appreciate the stint I had in the passenger seat of that V6... I didn't drool too much but have been looking at the for sale section since getting back... lol.

Excellent pics everyone!

I was going to post up before I left on the Monday but didn't get a chance :)

All of the comments above sum up the drive completely. Everything was superb, brilliant people, brilliant roads / views and fantastic banter

Cheers for posting that vid up alan #-o lol

Here's a link to the pics I've taken:

Mark

Hope you had a great week in Aulton Towers.

I am really glad you enjoyed it and you have some great photos there to prove it.

Yourself and Allan did well on the saturday night with the camping but i am sure that few drams warmed you up a bit and a nice fry up in the mornig set you up for the day.

I have a feeling you liked that Noble :D

The cars were all fantastic and i was so glad you managed to make it after the exhaust problems earlier in the week.

There is some great footage of you on here which i am sure you will come across.

We have a new route for 2008 and Alan has already booked your space as it is really popular.

I have B & B accomodation for you guys this time. But hey the camp site is only a couple of hundred yards from the B & B so no problem there.

Look forward to seeing the vids
