It'll be open pit, and it's full, so it'll be busy to start with and then get more sensible as the day goes on. It's all about pacing yourself and your car :thumleft:

Flat Pack wrote:That's my concern too, of course it only times if you put it in timing mode and give it a start / finish point though :)

I guess because timing is one of it's primary functions (unlike a video camera) and it can do it automatically (unlike someone with a stopwatch) they might not like it. I'll ask before I stick it in a car anyway.

Dave, BaT have allowed Data Logging in the past, but I think because of the nature of the driftbox automatically timing, it will be a no go.
Although have a nice word with Jonny after the briefing or at some point once the day is under way...

maybe send a pm to Anna who is organising this to find out where everyone else is staying, as it is away from the track. i doubt if anyone else is camping at the track.
that way you can join in the social side of things on sat night

I'm thinking of coming down to see whats happening on sunday.

I've drive a rev1 tubby on the road and have done my share of racing but i'm also an instructor at Brands Hatch and Bedford Autodrome so am used to being flung round circuits as a passenger too :)

Would anyone be interested in some cheap instruction if i were to come down for the pm only? Just trying to gauge interest before i commit to anything.

you may need to pass this by Jonny, as he provides instructors as part of the bookatrack service, and this may be a conflict of interests IYSWIM.

but on the other hand, if he is fully booked he may be glad of another instructor too :thumleft:

come down anyway to meet other IMOC'ers :thumleft:

Superb! I thought it was Dave that was coming to the ring. N'er mind, old age.. mind etc..
Managed to get the bullet cam wired up in the car this evening. Geebus! It was hard finding a good spot. Think I'll buy a bullet cam mount for the ring and just up sticky tape for rockingham as its all short notice.

Anna.. you do NOT want to arm him with a shotgun for clay pigeons.. he has enough trouble getting a car to go in the right direction, let alone point a gun....

Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow night & onwards.

Current weather forecast is looking "not bad" for Sunday. Although they seem to struggle for 1 day in advance yet alone 3.

Well I've just blown the NSF damper and my replacement tyres haven't come through so I'm running very hard, very bald, very old fronts.

It's going to be a good day :eye:

I think a lot of people are there already so you might not get a definitive answer!

AFAIK Activities are at the same place as the accomodation, my current plan is to turn up middayish there. Don't know what time everything starts I'm afraid...

I've heard it might not be the easiest place in the world to find either, which could be entertaining

Just got back, was a good day, and nice to put some names to faces. Unfortunately never finished the session as my second driver had an off and had a argument with the armco  Damage doesn't look too bad, although my rear wheel is a bit bent which im quite annoyed about.. Heres some pics..

3rded. Awesome day 8)

Was gutting to see your car after it gazed the armco Tubo-G. Never a nice thing to experience although if you think about it, it could have been a lot worse. I think the car got off lightly in all respects. I'm sure it will be back in it's former glory in no time :thumleft:

Some nice photos there Turbo-G :thumleft:

Was also good putting faces to names and meeting up with peoples of past events etc... 8)

I think the geometry brake work I did on our track nail deffo paid off as we definately were't the slowest on track as in the past.

Surprisingly we were impressed with the circuit and will do it again should the opportunity arise 8)

Well done to Anna and BaT for organising it all  :thumleft:

Had a great time. :D
BaT Instruction helped me out a load - would recommend it for anyone else on a first track day. Span twice with the instructor in the car... Doh! #-o
Learned a lot and then put it into practice for the rest of the day. Tyres, cheapos which came with the car, are very worse for wear so need to be replaced me thinks.
Quad biking, off roading and clay shooting ( 22 clays hit out of 24.. :D ) all good fun.
Turbo G - aye, felt really bad for you mate. Hope its not put you off going again. ;)

Have some bullet cam stuff and lots of off road videos and general mucking about stuff. Will be a while before I can post them though sadly ( 3 days or so I guess )

Thanks and well done Anna for organising this

Gutted we couldn't make the saturday, as it sounds like you all had a great time.

The track day was ace 8)

I really enjoyed thrashing our car round the circuit, but i fell i still have loads to learn, as there are so many different corners/grip/lines etc. I will def have to do the track again.
I had some instruction for the first time ever, and once i got over my nerves of having him in the car, it was great to pick up ona few bad habits i have (otherwise known as gooning) and get to see a few different lines.

The car felt really good in comparison to other track days, now G has changed the goemerty, and it felt really planted on the track. However was much more understeery than before so i struggled to get the apexes as well as i would have liked.

Turbo G - great photos (glad you got my SC in one  )
real shame about your car, but glad it wasnt worse. i hope you can get your alloy fixed as well, rather than havign to buy a whole new set.

Tomiam - LOL @ your spin, as i waved at you facing the wrong way. we've all been there. just goes to show you weren't pussying around like a granny tho :thumleft:
At least now you know where the limit is. Besides - get some good rubber on the road and you will be fine :thumleft:

A few of us went for Itallian in Market H'boro afterwards which was yummy - picked me up, as i was a bit shattered after the driving.

brign on the next IMOC trackday - Anglesey, nov.

There seemed to be a good standard of driving going on which is nice for a change, only a few pesky westfield type cars refusing to move out of the way.

It was worth it!

Unfortunately my video camera was in photo mode unknown to me so I got no video from the day :(
