[All] [Generic] 3S GTE in ae86?????

Post by shibby! »

Is it possible to get that in there?

I would have thought it be a hard.

But i like the power from these engines, but fancy a laugh in an Ae86.

So can you get one with these conversion done?

I saw a Supra with the 3S Gte conversion, so though it would be kinda similar kind of setup.

Issues are ...

Distributor will be in the bulkhead, so you will need a coil pack set up and hence standalone ECU.

There is a bell housing that will mate this engine to an old Supra W58 gear box but they are very difficult to get hold of.

The drive shafts in the AE86 back axle is pretty fragile and dosnt like big power and torque. Quite a few people have snapped driver shafts just running tuned GZE's!

TBH you will probably find you will ruin the car. Seriously BHP dosnt equal fun in the AE86, you can have as much fun if not more with 130bhp than you might with 230bhp. The car is a hoot to drive regardless of BHP.

Personally I would spend the money tuning up a 4age, throttle bodies, cams etc and have the chassis worked over with decent suspension etc.

Ha!

Thats what i need!

I like the power, im too used to driving the turbo, that everything else is slow.

I just think i migth be dissapointed with performance. Although the sideways fun may make up for it.

Being a daily driver, i like the power to blow past fools.

Oh well, back to the drawing board

A mildly tuned 4agze should be fairly rapid and sound better than a 3sgte 8)

Not as slow as you think, my puny 130bhp would probably hand your ass back to you on a plate if we were out on track.  But no it aint no straight line machine.

You would be, and equally you would be dissapointed with a 3sgte power one as you would struggle to keep it in a straight line, so the power would be unusable.
