remove the PCV hose from the inlet.

block off the hole at the inlet

(a wheel nut and jubilee fits nice)

place the pvc hose into a bottle of some sort

(500ml coke bottle works fine).

make sure the bottle is vented at the top.

remove your intercooler pipes and clean them out, clean out your turbo compressor

-i used wd40 and a rag.

put pipes back on.

use the car as normal.

turn on car and check for blue smoke in the coke bottle.

a small amount is ok.

.

but if its puffing and the bottle gets quite foggy then there is excessive blowby.

in about a weeks time check for excessive oil build up in the boost pipe thats connected to the turbo.

also check for oil in the coke bottle.

give the car a few beans etc as well but obv without overdoing it.

Oil in the catch

= rings/ringlands.

oil in the boost pipe

= turbo.

allow for a very small amount of oil in the boost pipe as you would have to strip the turbo to get all the oil out of the compressor housing.

The professional way to check for internal engine damage is to use a

'Leak down tester'

this is similar to a compression tester except it connects to a air compressor and fills the CC's with pressurised air.

therefore if there is a leak, you can hear where its coming from

-ie,rings,valves,HG etc etc.
