Thought I'd let everyone know I'm racing my Rallycross spec MR2 Mk1 on the following dates if anyone is interested coming along to watch.
Lydden (Kent) 23rd Sep http://www.rallycrossopen.com/index2.php
Croft Superprix (C Durham) 4th Nov http://www.rallycrosssuperprix.co.uk/index2.php
ExCel (Docklands) 8/9th Dec http://www.londonmasters.co.uk/
Rallycross is a mix of gravel and tarmac. A bit like a Rally stage but with more than one car on the track at the sametime. Hopefully there will be another MR2 Mk1 racing at Croft and ExCel. We are also trying to arrange for the SE club to attend ExCel
I'm up for going to Croft on the 4th November as I live local and own a MK1 and MK3 MR2, anyone else want to go and see the Rallycross Superprix @ Croft. Will be great to see an MR2 racing.

Make sure you come and find us in the pits. The MR2 is painted white with Castrol stickers (like the Celica Rally team). Look for the blue Revivals lorry. I'm normally in my road going Mk1a aswell.
Hopefully John Wood will also be there in his 2 litre Mk1.
Yes I definately will come and see you in the pits, I'm a huge rallycross fan and have been attending Croft since 1984 when it was the old circuit. I remember a purple, black and green Mk1 racing in the early 90's but haven't seen a MK1 race until earlier in the year when John Wood was at Croft competing in the National Championship.
I've had my MK1 MR2 for 8 years and will bring it along, I also run the local region of the MR2 MK1 Club so I'll try and rally some support for you guys.
See you soon

Dont remember any being that colour. I currently own the original built and raced by Tony Bell. It was originally red/white and then changed to black/red/silver and eventually blue/white.
The only other MR2 that raced was Paul Easterbrook's green/pink car which had a Celica Turbo engine in the back. I do believe Paul still owns the car after all these years.
Hi Guys,
There will be 2 x MK1's ( 1 x supercharger in red ) and a MK2 coming.
Is there any way we can get the cars lined up in the paddock next to your pit??
Let me know if this is possible, we are looking forward to meeting you guys and will be spporting the Mk1 all the way.
Cheers
Michael
Looks like we missed each other.
Unfortunately I didn't get your message as I was travelling to Croft on Friday.
I did see John Light on the Saturday and he told me he had done alot of the work when the MR2 was original built. I've sent you a PM.
