[Mk2] [Turbo] Re - Spray

Post by Ed209 »

Hi All,

Well, ive got the dreaded 'super duper' Red - cant remember the code..and its faded, bad.

I keep thinking right ill have a proper go with some T-Cut type stuff, but i just think a re-spray will be easier and simpler. But how much? Anyone any ideas for a full re-srpay in the same colour? Im presuming a different colour would be more expensive still..

Havve you considered having a body shop compound the paint? they basically get a machine polisher with rubbing compound and remove several layers of paint. Will cost about £80 and may solve all your problems. A respray will never be as good and wil cost IRO £1500.

Im puzzled with this, you're saying a £1500 respray will never be as good as mopping? I'd say for that price it'd be a damn sight better!

Wouldn't it fade again in time though? Maybe you should go for a metallic red or candy if you're definitely going for a respray

I had a very faded red which was beyond mopping,

My car was a horrible, :thumleft: I FULLY RECOMMEND MR2_NEIL :thumleft: ,

He was very friendly and Neil and Tasha done a fantastic job, The car is a couple of shades lighter and they done an amazing job,

For the price people told me it was going to be a rubbish job, but i have had friends go over the car and been to a car show and no one thought it would be so cheap and yet such amazing quality.

The car now looks brand new and yes in ten years it will fade but hey iots a red car what do you expect.

I will post some pictures of my car before, during and after.

I know i keep saying it but Neil and Tasha did an amaing Jobs

Neil Tasha if you reading thanks very much \:D/ still makes me smile whenever im walking towards her :D .
