Eh? Don't recall any 'personal' difficulties. I wasn't trying to start an argument, i was merely stating a point of view that is shared by others.

Its fine to have some fun, but my main concern is that you could put others in danger through your competitiveness on track.

Danger through competitiveness? Are you completely blind or insane? I never span the car, slid off the track, lost control or hit anyone. Unlike many other people did. I was overtaken loads by the faster cars (skyline repeatedly!), and managed not to be 'dangerous through competitiveness'.

You don't want an argument, you just want, as usual, to boss everyone around and take the fun out of everything. It's got to be oh-so-serious.

I take safety very seriously and yes, implying I am somehow a danger hits a nerve very harshly.

Speak to Limey and MR2MK1CHICK who had passenger rides, then speak to Adam in the modded Corsa for on-track close driving (we lapped together for over 20 laps), then come back and tell me I am dangerous through competitiveness. This is off-topic so shut up or take it to PM.

If I was banned from bookatrack it will be because I admitted on this forum that I timed laps, which I didn't fully understand the consequences of from an insurance point of view.

If you are implying that there was any dangerous driving I suggest you produce proof or shut your lying mouth.

Where did i imply that you drove dangerously? Did i not say in an earlier post that it was not your driving that was an issue, more your attitude?

Right Andy, let me clarify this for you.

Yes, being competitive on a trackday= dangerous. Ergo if you time on a trackday you are considered dangerous. This is based on the fact that you will take more risks to get a laptime in as this will be your focus.

Trackdays are by definition 'Non-competitive'.

I am not in any way criticising your driving. FWIW it looked okay to me though i have never been in a car with you. It was your attitude towards trackdays that concerned me, particularly so when i repeatedly stated that timing is not allowed. I fully explained the reasons behind it, but you went and did it anyway.

So whilst your driving per se is not in question, it is your attitude that is the focus of my concern.

Waah - a whole thread entitled "Trackday Attitude and Tomfoolery"...

Just to clarify, don't know if you knew or it would/wouldn't make a difference... I wasn't timing laps in-car, ie I wasn't 'chasing time' in corners or aiming to be somewhere by a particular time because of watching a clock, the times were derived later on afterwards. I understand that seeing a clock winding round whilst driving would create something to chase, but simply driving the car to it's limits in each corner and finding out later what those times were, doesn't seem that different from watching an onboard video that was for 10laps and just writing down what each lap was from the video time-stamp. That's what I do on a trackday, try and go as fast as I can on each corner, increasing apex speeds, seeing when/where the car starts to slide.

I just wondered if there was a perception of me having a big display infront of me whilst I angrily attacked each corner. If there was that misunderstanding I just wanted to clear it up. I'd never feel the pressure to get by someone aggressively to prevent screwing up a laptime, my conduct in traffic was polite and courteous.

I lapped with Adam-the-corsa for about 20 laps, we swapped positions a number of times. We were not racing, just driving together on track. There was no out-braking each other or parking on apex's. It was a great experience. We laughed and joked afterwards in the carpark how 2 totally different vehicles, FWD and Mid-RWD could be so similar in potential.

The chest thrusting doesn't translate to an attitude whilst behind the wheel, the 2 persona's are very different. I enjoy the goading and wind-ups off track, but I take it very seriously ontrack, and wouldn't risk anything not least the fact I had to drive home!

Hope it clears it up a bit.

Of course you go fast on track, its the time chasing that may impair your decision making process about forcing a corner or an overtake, which you are less likely to do if you not being timed.

You get your times at the end.

You push and push, finding out limits etc. And you get the printout at the end.
