Same picture? Same car? Same thread? Same "we still can't legally import a car under 10 years old"??

Gaz! wrote:But im under the impresion that here in the uk we cant register it as it has no model report :-k

Think you'll have better luck advertising to UK sellers if you could quote the facts on legally importing and registering this to the UK.

GL with the sale though
Why thank you - I grew it myself you know

It was build in 02/1998...

This is my last try to sell it, otherwise I'll break it up for parts...
I don't have the time to sell the car...
First one offering 5250 GBP gets it...
The car is standing here getting dirty... I can't see it any longer! [-X

Problem is it's pretty useless to anyone in the UK until it's 10 years old (so nearly 6 months if it's Feb 08) and at that point they won't be worth as much as we'll be able to import them anyway and the availability will go up. The only reason they are so highly priced now is that there are a very few lucky sods about who managed to squeak them in before the law changed hence they are as rare as rocking horse poo and that makes it a sellers market.

Can't believe you can't sell it in Germany.........breaking it seems rather extreme but your call.

Best of luck anyway.

Selling in Germany is quite difficult, because its RHD...

Actually I wanted to keep the for myself, but now I have another one, and the rare 98 has to go...

Not many people around here, want a RHD car! They are scared about it or something like that...

I think your problem is that your trying to sell the car in the UK without the car being the country so how does someone know it isnt a scam where you get payment and thats the last your heard of?

You only appear to have joined IMOC in march so as to sell yoyr car - youve not posted on any other sbject - and youve not given your name in your profile and your registration is hidden in the pics of your car so it appears your doing your best to hide your identity.

When combined with the fact that it started off at £10k in March and has now dropped to almost half that it all appears a bit odd. Also, your story doesnt add up - you say your selling because you cant register it in Germany but then say your selling because you have another one coming?! On your Ebay advert you say youve only just got it....

This has all the hallmarks of a scam. I hope I'm wrong - why dont you post up picture of yourself stood next to the car as evidence that you actually have it in your possession and its not just a photograph youve copied from comewhere - better still hold a copy of your current local newspaper :-)

Hehe heard this before... :D

Here is a picture of me standing beside the car, when I picked it up from Bremerhaven, GERMANY.

My Full name and my address:

Kai Beuershausen
Duelmener Str. 25
59348 Luedinghausen GERMANY
My phone number: +491732677156
My E-mail: [email protected]
My ebay profile name: Starsplash1607 (214 feedbacks)
Mr2-Forum.de name: *M*R*2* (nearly 2000 posts)

I can also put a copy of my passport on IMOC 8)

My other car:

The reason why I don't have posted in other threads yet, is because I sometimes don't understand that much
That would be the same for you on the german MR2-Forum. :D

When I first tried to sell the car, there was a big feedback and it was sold 2 times on ebay to England. 2 times the buyer didn't reply on my e-mails.
First time sold for 7499 GBP, second time sold for 7199 GBP.
I dropped the price, because I hope that anyone wants the car, and is able to register it. I don't know the laws in UK, and I cannot come over and ask your customs for the laws.

So you can see I don't try to hide my identity!

The one who buys the car, can also come and pick it up from here!
The shipping is only a service which I can arrange...
I don't need to do that!

Hope everything is clear now? I not a bad guy :D

No problem...

I bought another one, because I actually don't want to break an 1998 car which is in a stunning condition!
I bought another one, because I want to swap the engine to my blue mr2... So I bought a 1994 Rev3 from Japan!
I bought the 1998 because I wanted to break it, but after I've seen it, I couldn't...

Any more pictures? Shall I strip in front of the car or what? :D

I think you need to get the car into the uk before you will get any serious interest - someone will also need the de-registration documents etc as well to assist with registering in UK. I would be very surprised if anyone in UK is prepared to pat thousands of pounds for a car not even in the country.

There is no ten year rule thing in Ireland, and we also drive on the left over here, so you may have some interest if you could find somewhere to advertise it over here.

What Jeff says will still apply though. A lot of people won't be prepared to part with cash when the car is out of the country, and most won't be interested in travelling to collect it.

Also there's the issue of VRT, which I believe is still payable unfortunately, as it is in the case of cars imported from the UK to Ireland. In the case of a 98 T-bar turbo with 50k miles on it, that would cost 3717 euro :pale:

Best of luck with the sale all the same, it's a shame the EU still haven't eradicated that ridiculous tax between all member states. Daylight robbery

Thought I'd found a loophole with the VCA Mutual Recognition Sceme - ie importing a vehicle from an EU country. But from talking to them, this would only work if the vehicle was registered in that EU country and would still require an SVA test.

Person I spoke to wasn't sure about the "type approval" angle - said that was an issue for VOSA ....

God forbid that one gov't dep't might understand what it's counterpart does ...... :-#
