[Mk2] [Turbo] changing oil advice!!

When changing the oil in your mr2 turbo doe's everyone use a genuine toyota oil filter and what oil would you use fully or semi?

I use OEM filters and fully synth Silkolene Pro-S 5w40 (from www.opieoils.co.uk - discount available for IMOC members)

Do a search on here, though - this subject has been covered many, many times.

i use Castrol magnatex 10w 40 part synthetic. its cheap to buy and its just as good as any other. t

he way i looked at it was that if your planning to change your oil on a regular basis eg every 4-6000 miles (to keep the turbo in good condition)

what is the point in buying very expensive oil for a short period of use.

obviously every one has their own opinions but just remember that once you use fully synthetic oil you will ALWAYS have to use fully synthetic oil.

I'm not sure that's true anymore - I didn't think there was any problem changing from one to the other, or even to mineral oils for that matter.

i was told along time ago that you couldnt change back but at the same time i wouldnt chance it lol

Tis a myth, you can can from mineral to synthetic and back again without issue. The only down side is diliute the better of the two oils if you mix.
