It's not the car mate, it's just a bad time to sell, most people are spending on hols this time of year. :)

Just my 2ps worth, but maybe its because its a conversion?
I had a mint bodyshell BMW 3 series with a straight 6 dropped in from a newer car (very rapid), it was on Autotrader, the club forum sale section and finally sold on ebay to some rich track day enthusiast who wanted some cheapo thing to rag as he had some slightly more expensive toys he didnt want to smash! (Porsche and his mate had an Evo they played swapsies on)
The annoying thing was i got loads of calls/emails to ask how i converted the car (i bought it already done) and not actual interest in it!

I agree with Tony, have a look through the recent for sale ads here and you'll see the likes of:

£5000 no offers
1/2 weeks later
£4500 no offers
1/2 weeks more later
£4000 ono

Good time to be buying, bad time to be selling :(

It really is a bad time to sell.. the car looks lovely and with some spare cash I would have had it off you.. Maybe the high mileage on the V6 is putting some folks off (not that it can be changed :()

The mileage shouldnt put people off as these engines are boom proof ( apart from the head gaskets but they were done ) and they last a lot longer when its bolted to an auto box where your not allowed to rev the engine too high until the gear oil has warmed up !!! and the internals were inspected when this was apart and were found to be in excellant condition.

We know that but potential buyers don't! Other than those heavily involved in the MR2 scene, buyers probably wouldn't realise the amount of work that goes into installing a V6 into the MR2 - hell anyone reading it on ebay probably assumed that you were BS'ing! I'm not having a go at you and I think for £2800 that car is a bargain :(

Know what your saying there...but just looking at a speedo with 166,000 miles on makes you think that the car will expolde in the near future....well not with MR2's but some cars !!!

Righto....knocked the MK1 V8 project on the head and sold the lexus and selling the mk1 now and driving this vectra about is saving me a fair bit on insurance and petrol AND after reading Whoozy's thread on turboing the V6.....its just too tempting !!

I'll bump this one more time, if it doesnt sell in a week or so, i'll be dropping the engine starting the turbo project.

The Magnex backbox is still on and the price i will let it go for is £2750...thats it, no part ex's, no offers....I still think its too cheap, but if it goes, i'll be buying a rev3 turbo and go from there.
