Insured as a replica car!

Was a bit of a pain to sort as i am under 25. even still only set me back 429 with agreed value. Once i'm over 25 should be low 300s

does have limited mileage but thats not a problem for me.

Do you TRD owners manage to get them insured as a kit car? Just preparing myself for when Toni finally gives in to me.

I'm with Footman James, as I'm (cough) over 25 I insure the whole lot as an official replica for....£210 a year fully comp. They don't need to know/don't care about modifications - I am limited to 4000 miles p.a. but I can 'buy' more miles any time!!

Slightly off topic but,I have spoken to numerous specialist insurers(f/james,a/flux,A-plan etc)in prep for when I eventually get my TRD rep finished.But not one of them will insure it as a kit hence am getting huge quotes.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?as peeps with real or rep TRD'S seem to get it as a kit car.....?

you need to insure it as a race replica, not a kit car (at least thats what i have done)

It is a replica if the Jap GT car champion of 1998

You may need a pic of the original race car, let me know if you do

Yes wheels that fill the arches will be nice - but as of now - better handling

Well I have a 20mm bolt on hubcentric spacer on a +27 wheel - it sits out a little - but not much! A 20mm at least I'd say for you, possibly 25.

The twist on the insurance is definitely race replica - kit cars are a different thing.

Ouch,I purchased some 30mm ones as a tempory measure till I can get some hubcentric ones.Hope they fit in the arches,at least they will give me an idea on my ideal spacers for my setup

I have hubcentric bolt on 20mm ones from ultralite - on a +27 wheel that totally fills the arch. I wish I could've got 15s tbh, 30s will be far to big!

When i temp fitted the rear arches the gap from the inner lip of the mr2 arch to the outer edge of the TRD arch was 45mm. lip was about 15mm hence why I went for the 30's.I did want 25mm but they didn't do them.

I trial fitted the wheels and they came right to the edge with 255/40's on in the mr2 arch.

Just hoping they won't stick out.but once i now i will be replcing them with hubcentric ones.

Out of interest Toni,what size tyres are you using on what rim size.Sorry if it has been stated but have not re-read the post since last comments.

215/45/17 front (due to fact can't get R888s in 215/40)
and
255/40/17 rear.

I was assuming your offset was similar to mine, but if it is normal 'MR2' offset of 35-40 then 30s probably would fit.
