[Mk2] [Turbo] Gauge readings... ?

Post by LuizeGT »

ive just put in Defi eleccy boost gauge, works great so i thought id so got a good drive.
Avcr is set to 0.9 bar but according the the gauge it was spiking to 1 bar easy and no more and i got thered flashing light on the gauge, what does this mean??

also the AVCR read that i hit 0.85 bar at 5350rpm, which is going to be more acurate and why would the readings differ like this?

The red light is the warning light, it tells you how to adjust it in the manual as i cant remember off hand how to do it, it must be set below 1 bar.

I cant really help on the different readings, but maybee there is a diffence between what the actuator opens at and what the actual preasure is on the inlet side? Im sure some one will know how to help.

The red light on the gauge will simply be indicating that the engine is producing more boost than the limit on the gauge is set to. An over boost warning set my the previous owner (assuming you bought the gauge second hand, no instructions etc?). Once you figure out how to reset it to slightly above what boost you're running, you should only ever see it during a proper overboost situation.

As for the different readings, I really don't have any idea, sorry!
