Seen another MR2 when you were out and about? Find out if it was another IMOCer here.

2000 V-Reg Mark 2 for sale on Autotrader

A very tidy looking machine, I'm sure you'll agree!

It's been a while since I've owned an MR2, but I've wanted to get back in the pilot's seat ever since I sold my old '92 tubby. I've been idly flicking through Auto Trader, but the only new(ish) mk2's I can find are of the UK-spec variety.

I was under the impression that they kept making MR2 Turbos in Japan, right up until the mk3 came out. Is it possible to get hold of a recent turbo import (the newer the better)?

wait until next year and you can import a rev5 turbo, only up to rev4 at the moment
although having said that, there is rev5 turbo in the for sale section (imported before new rules came in)

As far as I know, you won't be able to bring in a Rev 5 Turbo at all. Something to do with Toyota never releasing a certain report for the car that's required for import. I could be wrong though :?
Their are a few that made it in before the rule change as you say, so that might be a better bet for you.

:-k Pricey though for what you're gaining. I think for that money you could buy a nice UK Rev3/4 and do a turbo conversion on it. Or stick a V6 in? You're looking at £2500-£3000 for the conversion.

Then get a monster engine in it for £4500. Same price. :thumleft:
