Guildford Meet 5/8/07

The start time is going to be Sunday 5th August 11.30am with an intention to leave for a pub at 13.00 (sharp - no waiting)...

Any ideas for a nice pub would be great!!

As in the past the start place for the meet is to be at the Spectrum Leisure Centre, Details here:

Please note that the Guildford meet is on even if it rains. We meet in the underground section of the car park if it is raining. If it is nice then in the usual open spot.

Olly, mate. Whilst anyone can organise a Guildford meet and I don't mind them doing so, given the hard work me and Chris have put into resurrecting the meet and making it as popular as it is today, I do feel a little miffed that someone has come along and organsied one without saying anything to me first. As said, I have no problem with anyone doing the meet, maybe its me being stupid but alot of work has gone into reorganising the meet to what it is now.

The meet was originally posted up for mr2oc because Olly and a few other peeps were itching to go on another run and hadn't heard of anything in the pipeline for this month.....

I think thats why the decisin was made that he would get some interest and then a run sorted....I am sure theat Olly in no way means to barge in and take the reins on the monthly Guildford run, its just that because of your committments with JAE and the club at present it seemed to a few people that no Guildford run would happen this month

I'm not taking sides cos your both mates of mine ......I am helping Ollie out with the route for Sunday but if you need any help organising another for the 19th Malcolm then i will happily be at yours and Chris' service

Sorry Tiamat, im not out to takeover the Guildford meet mate im just keeping your good work going, there had been no news on a meet and i did not want it to die out as it has done in the past.

Ok here is the route for the Guildford meet on Sunday which was pre-run by Alex and myself last Sunday (thanks mate)

Sorry the maps are not that clear,

We start at the Spectrum Guildford GU1 1UP,
Get on the A3 heading south,
Leaving the A3 at Milford stopping at the slip road at the Esso service station,
Then follow the A286 south to Midhurst,
Join the A272 west to the A3 we get back on the A3 for one junction to get back on the A272,
Stop at the Seven Stars Pub on the A272 in Stroud GU32 3PG after a drink the return run takes us west on the A272 to then head north on the A32 to then join the A31 back to the A3, come off at Guildford to follow the A322 to Worplesdon Place Pub (big car park where Guildford meet use to be years back) GU3 3RY

Is a really good run and the more we have the better so come on! get your names down everyone!!

Its alright Olly, its just I hadn't got round to putting it up, it will never die out while I am an MR2 owner, just felt a PM beforehand might have been nice. Sorry I can't make this one, I am rebuilding my motorbike this weekend and can't put it off, she's been in pieces for far too long and I need to get her runnign again so I can use the gargae for storage of the rally car - it never ends
