[Mk2] [Turbo] Disconnected Plug in Engine Bay

Post by Ed209 »

Hi All,

Wonder if anyone can help me, noticed a couple of flat spots when accelerating lately, nothing too bad, but i thought as it's a dry night, i'll go and have a tinker in the engine bay.

Looking around and found a plastic plug disconnected - the plug goes into like a green plastic housing underneath the cam cover? (ceramics power plate part!) - just underneath and slighty to the left of the accelerator cable.

anyway, plugged it back in and went for a spin, waited for the engine to warm and give it some - and it seems a lot smoother and seems to pull harder, maybe its my imagination, so im wondering what this connector is or does?!? any ideas?

Thanks
Ed

need more info like what age your car is? turbo? was the green plug on in the water jacket on the left of the head near the turbo?

i'm thinking its one of the ecu temp sensors, either the cold start or the actual temp sensor.

cheers karam

Yep rekon your exactly right - in the mornings when cold the engine would really stutter and once cut out - was fine after it warmed up, but was REALLY lumpy when cold - started it up this morning and it was perfect! 1500 revs until warm then calmed down + no hesitation to speak of!!

Cheers guys!
