Mid 12's I think due to very low boost.

Re: Ten of the Best (TOTB) 2007 - Elvington, 29th July - MR2s needed...
I'm a bit stressed out re results
(or lack of up to date, accurate ones that are easy to find!) at the moment, sadly this is the best I can do for now.
.
.

That's overall positions, the chaps were 1st and 3rd in RWD

(Our best handling was
"GTS" Chris Huntley with
~39.8
- an excellent result!)

I'll write more when I'd had a sleep but in the meantime a huge thankyou to everyone who took part
(a fantastic
team
result chaps) and everyone who offered support all through the day.
Thanks to the reserves for being there for us and for everyone who popped by and gave words of encouragement.

You all made the organising nightmare more than worthwhile, it was a pleasure to play my part, you did yourselves proud and you put the MR2 on the map this year.

Thanks

Will try to get a full list of results as soon as the organisers manage to get their quills out and find some suitable parchment to write on before sending a man on horseback to deliver them to me, apparently it's 2007 everywhere else but at TOTB it's still 1987

Was a good day guys spent the last 3 weeks doing 18hour days to get her there.
Sorry she had a few probs on the day.
400 mile and a map were not enough.
We now know the probs of the car.
And will be out again in 2 weeks.

Well done to the rest of the boys.
Good times and a good team.
Sorry to be the weak link this year.

Well done to the rest of the boys.

Behave! We all know how much effort it takes to produce a car capable of being considered for the event, never mind one that makes the team

Great day guys
- the MR2's really busrt onto the scene and i think took lots by suprise.

Shame about the problems i encurred as i know i would have won the shoot outs as i had already beat the viper earlier
- he then went on to win overall in the 1/4 mile league
(it should have been me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Now the motor has to come back out but it was all worth it

Massive thanks to Mitch for sorting a cracking team you did us proud, thanks to Andy F for putting us all up
(hope your house smelt better when you got home from this morning!!!) and thanks to everyone who pulled together when the chips were down.

Great to put faces to name
- a real great bunch of people and some real characters
(Chris!!!) A top day was had by me and i think i can safely say everyone else too.

Regards,

Nathan

AFAIK Mike JC was rapido on the handling course and ran an 11.7

Earl seemed to have a great day, dont know what times he ran but seemed to spend alot of the time on the handling course

First off.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
hats off to everyone in the team and to all those that supported us at this years TOTB.
Their was a real buzz in the form of team spirit and I think this helped us bag some MR2 on the map brownie points

The 1/4 mile results, well I guess they speak for themselves
Who would have thought last year that an MR2 would have been the fastest RWD car at this yrs TOTB
Well done to the dragsters for putting on such an impressive display

We even managed to do pretty well in the handling department also.
GTS Chris was the 2nd fastest RWD Jap car on the day and I backed him up as the 3rd!
So again I think we managed to open eyes in the handling area of the event

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics and vids that follow

Firstly, a superb team effort! Well done to EVERYONE!

Thanks go to Mitch once again for doing a sterling job of organising.
You did us proud mate.
Great seeing you again
(hope your feeling better), and Andy Forster for putting up with the rabble once again at his house
(christ it stunk of farts and curry when we woke up at 6am
).

Congratulations to Nathan.
Absolutely superb performance mate.
Really gutted for you in the final.
Would have been such a shocker for the big boys, to see an MR2 take the title.
Never mind, always next year.

My day was incredibly trouble free, apart from lack of traction.
I only had Toyo T1-R's, and trying to put well over 460+ bhp through them just didn't work.
Best
"official" time was a 12.44, but my fastest time of the day was a stonking 11.96, but I red lighted, and it didn't count.

In the top speed run, I managed a 153.6
(blimey it's bumpy at the time trap
- I was bricking it!), but once again, was hampered by traction problems off the line, and through second and third gears.
Decent tyres would have definately seen the Beast hit 160+.

All in all, I was hugely encouraged by the performance of the car, and with it's definate potential.
With the fuelling system installed, so we can run high boost, and some nice sticky rubber, it'll be right up there with the cars of Andrew and Nathan.
Of that, I have NO doubt.

Roll on next year.

EarL.

Apparently, the results were from the times not the shoot outs so as i was the quickest RWD car i won the prize

Re: Ten of the Best (TOTB) 2007 - Elvington, 29th July - MR2s needed...
really enjoyed it
(well, except the broken driveshaft)
massive thanks to Xxxx and Mark
(DIM on here
(rarely))
for making it so the car could be driven home, and even get one last 1/4 in.
Xxxx gave up a lot of possible track time to fix it
(and help with others too).
Cheers Rogue for letting us borrow a 32mm socket
.
.
.
we'd of been bu88ered without it.
People from all over were helping with each others cars, loads of team spirit.
Wasn't with the quick guys this time, but these things are all about evolving cars, so fingers crossed i'll speed up and make the team again next year.
12.48 qtr was the best i managed on the day, not great, but not too bad either.

I think just about all the drag fraternity had issues, the more track orientated cars may of had fewer
(on the day at least
- mikejc's car had to be fixed before the event even started following Saturdays Time Attck).
Brilliant times off Nathan and Spud, should be well happy with them.
GTS chris
- brilliant on the handling circuit.

Nice to meet so many other enthusiasts at last and have some time to get seriously mr2 with them.
The team really did come together this time.

Michael
- ta for letting me play on the team.
thanks for putting in your time and efforts for organising this for us all.

Great day out, shame it started to rain right at the very end.
