Gah! :( Black Rev1 GT T-bar lightly-modded turbo for sale + spares!

Post by Mauler »

As I have a hankering for something a bit older and bigger like a Yank V8. I've had the tubby for a year exactly now (insurance is coming up) and I fancy a change.

Info:

Black Rev1 1991 T-bar
Roughly 85,000 miles on the clock (will add exact milage when I get home)
GT model - steering fogs, air-con, half leathers, retractable mirrors
HKS dump valve
HKS EVC VI (aye the new 6) boost controller (set at 0.9 bar)
FCD
Roto gunmetal + chrome lip Slipstreams 17s on 215 front & 235 rear Falkens with plenty of tread, professionally fitted & balanced
MOT & tax (will add exact info)
No rust!
Replaced bonnet (with another standard black one) as the old one had faded a bit
Crappy little spare and original Mr T toolbag + jack included
Original covers for the T-bar glass
Clifford Concept 650 alarm, immobiliser w/turbo timer
Lowered and stiffened springs but I don't know the details of these
Deluxe audio Toyota amp + sub kit
Black momo steering wheel
Clear front indicators
Custom stainless exhaust (not sure if it's performance or not)

Bad parts:

Bodywork is sound, but showing it's age a bit with a few little surface scratches here and there, nothing too noticable
Air-con is slowly warming up so may need regassing soon
Two alloys are slightly scuffed
Rear bumper is slightly marked from the previous owner*
Speedo has stopped working properly*
T-bar leaks a bit on the driver's side, looks like it's been polyfillered before*

*see below

I know that looks like a "WTF, I ain't buying that" list but...

Extra bits included:

K&N filter kit (will need a top hat adapter)
Replacement black rear bumper
Replacement full front & back speedo cable
Replacement T-bar seals
Rev2 brake upgrade kit - black diamond front & rear discs, Rev2 calipers, Green Stuff pads & braided hoses
Rev3+ rear lights & lockless centre panel
CT20b turbo from my old GT4 (looks 100% OK but is untested so I can't guarantee it works)
Spanking new still wrapped genuine black 'Midship Runabout' front badge
Nifty 10in sub box to fit behind a seat - made by one of the guys from here :thumleft:
Boxed Exeddy clutch kit (even though the current clutch seems fine and doesn't slip, I was thinking ahead)
Original KPH speedo (boxed)

I sold my GT4 to keep the MR2 but I've always wanted a V8 ever since I had my old stage 1 3.0S Capri and well, tbh, watching Transformers the other day made my mind up to hunt for a Camaro so I've lost the incentive to find time to do the work. LOL
I'll have a quick look online to see what stuff can be done quickly and easily (the bumper I suspect) and will try to get these done before any viewers can show up.

The previous owner had the car maintained by his local Toyota dealers with receipts to prove it so it's been kept at a decent standard. She passed her MOT with flying colours last year so I don't expect any problems at all this year. I've looked after her as well I as I could and has been run on nothing but Optimax/V-Power.

I'm looking for around £2900 which isn't really a lot for someone who can bung on the supplied bits and maybe stick on a bigger downpipe & exhaust to bring her up to speed, literally.
Hell, someone could buy her and the spare bits, take off and flog some of it, replace parts with standard and sell it it all on seperately for a profit - the EVC 6, Slipstreams, rear panel & clutch would probably net close to a grand if you had the time to replace & sell them!

Here's some pics and I'll add more very soon - any requests?

Based in Essex.

Also has ABS & cruise control - pretty rare for a Rev1 I think?

I'll leave my Alpine ICE in there too - trusty CDA-9853R head unit, uprated door speakers and 6x9 pods behind the seats.

She needs to go! :(

market is very slow at the moment, prob due to the crap english weather. £2900 isn't a bad price for this car i don't think?

Cheers!

I would've thought that a T-bar is perfect for the current weather - when it rains you just put the glass back in the roof ;)

I wondered if the price is a bit high for a Rev1 but considering the mods and what spares are included I think it's fairly well justified.

Don't know what's going on with car sales . I'm havin the same probs tryin to sell my 1993 V8 Land Rover (gas converted) !
I had a list of 6 people who over the last 2 years have hounded me for first dibs on it ....... But their priorities all seem to have changed !

Tuesday night had a bloke spend two hours of my time, test drives, under it, over it, a million questions ........ then decides it's not what he's lookin for.

 Give me strength
